We Know you Ride, But do you Shoot?

The failure of the gun buy back program is actually making me want to go out and buy a gun. Does anyone know where to get a PAL in Durham and basically what’s involved? Not interested in anything restricted , just a nice new quality bolt action rifle and maybe some WW2 era military stuff, Lee...

    Bike meets: likes & dislikes

I enjoy seeing vintage motorcycles that usually only show up at bike meets and otherwise don’t see the light of day. Haugen’s, on Hwy.12 just outside of Port Perry use to have a really good bike night and would have a really good turnout. It t wasn’t unusual to see 2 or 3 mint CBX’s and the odd...

You might find something for about $500,000 in Durham or other out lying areas.

    Renting garage workspace

That’s a great idea but I don’t think you will ever find a 1500SF unit for anywhere near $75,000. You can’t build a garage that size with heat, hydro, water, permits etc. even if you were given the land for free. I did work at a guys 2000SF unit at HWY.27 and Steeles and I’m pretty sure he paid...

What Are You Currently Listening To?

Absolutely one of my favorite bands ever and a great video. I saw them at the CNE Stadium right around when this video was made. Joe Strummer still had the same crazy haircut he has in this video. The most memorable show I’ve ever seen, not the best musicians but they had a real positive energy...

I totally forgot about Brian Adam’s, he was huge in the UK. I’d like to add Stompin’ Tom to the list. He gave back all his Juno Awards in the 80’s when they started giving them out to artists that hadn’t lived in Canada for years. I had the pleasure to have seen him at Massey Hall in the early...

    Degreaser Recommendation

I know a couple of guys that use this in their parts cleaner, an environmentally alternative to Simply Green. You can get it much cheaper if you look around.I think you can get this same 1 gallon jug in the US for about $7...

    Renting garage workspace

If you have the space,I would consider constructing a large shed that can easily be insulated and heated with an electric heater. I know a lot of municipalities have eased up on their restrictions. Where I am use to be limited to 100 sq.ft. Now it’s 150 sq.ft. A 10’x15’ workspace isn’t so bad...

What Are You Currently Listening To?

Gino Vanelli actually wrote a couple of pretty good songs, love the “Black Cars” video. Nobody has mentioned one of the all time greatest one hit wonders, Dan Hill with “Sometimes When We Touch”. Also honorable mention to Bruce Cockburn. Wow, so many with international hits.

What Are You Currently Listening To?

I’ve always said that Canada has been blessed with some of the greatest songwriters and Joni Mitchell would be very close to the top of that list, having the voice of an angel certainly doesn’t hurt either. I would also add to that list Gordon Lightfoot, Bachman-Cummings, Neil Young,Robbie...

    Motorcycle industry in Canada (Ontario)

I’ve lived and breathed motorcycles my whole life but would never work in that industry. There’s better money in the building trades.I’ve only known 1 guy that made a decent living at it. He owned Oshawa Cycle Salvage and worked his butt off with his wife and really built that business. He got...

    What are you reading?

I’m almost through this. Just like the title says, interviews with some of the greatest filmmakers of Hollywood’s golden era. Most of the extensive interviews were conducted in the 70’s. Makes me realize how many great films I haven’t seen and how many I need to go back and watch again.
