    Why, why, why,

Some have a coil inside that little box that is energized to cancel the turn signal when the bike has traveled a specific distance after activating them. I just watched an old Kawasaki guru repair one on YouTube, I’m semi retired so I have time to watch that kind of stuff.

    Why, why, why,

My buddy’s 1980 Kawasaki Z1R had self canceling turn signals which was quite unique at the time. if my memory serves me correctly, it was a tiny little device about the shape and size of a matchbox directly below your turn signal switch on your handlebars. It had a pendulum in it that sensed...

What Are You Currently Listening To?

Good to hear. They were huge from about ‘79-‘82. Sold out pretty much any venue in Toronto that they played. I saw them many times at The Knobby (Knob Hill Hotel) in Scarborough, a real classy place. Frankie Venom RIP was a great front man.

I remember seeing that cop car with the smashed windows that night, 45 years ago this coming June 2 I believe.

What Are You Currently Listening To?

Yeah, I’m a 1980 Teenage Head Riot Survivor. I actually got into the show that night and saw the aftermath of the riot leaving at the main gates with a huge police presence. Those guys absolutely rocked the place!

    Fry pans

My step kids use to scramble eggs with a metal fork in a Teflon pan. I made them watch “Dark Waters” and they were like “Yeah,so?” Now they have their own frying pan and I have one with a ceramic coating. We’ll see who dies of cancer first.

    Sandblasting Cabinet

So I picked up a nice sandblasting cabinet to use on a restoration on a Yamaha RD400 that I’m about to emabark on, plus it was my birthday and I just wanted one. A couple of problems have reared their ugly heads and looking for advice from anyone with firsthand experience. First, my 20 gallon...

    Torque wrench on sale

The torque wrench I actually use the most is a 1/4” drive 250 inch pounds (about 20 foot pounds). Everyone should have one of those. It’s the small fasteners that you have to be the most careful with.

    Torque wrench on sale

The range on that is a little high for most applications on a motorcycle. Most oil drain plugs are about 20-25 ft-lbs. I think mine is 15-100 or 150 ft-lbs. and that does almost everything I need it to.I think they are more accurate when used in mid range rather than the upper and lower ends of...

    Shannonville 50 years

I was at Shannonville on the Friday morning of a race weekend when Steve Dick unloaded a brand new Kawasaki S1 factory race bike from a cube truck.About 1:30 that afternoon he crashed it pretty bad in corner 6 just doing fast laps. I was in the pits when they unloaded the wrecked bike. I still...

    Shannonville 50 years

Dave Meyer is the guy that built Lang’s bike, his younger brother went to my high school in Scarborough. I think Lang re-acquired that bike very recently.

Post up your liquor/spirit talk ?

Came across this in Muscle Shoals, Alabama last week after years of searching, the elusive Pappy Van Winkle Bourbon. You have to enter a lottery to get a bottle and can sell for up to $1000. It was pretty good but you can get other bourbons almost as good for a fraction of the price. The Mrs...

We Know you Ride, But do you Shoot?

Sorry, I skipped over those previous posts.Coincidentally, my father is from Steyr, Austria. That’s where they made a large number of the K98 rifles as well as MP40 sub machine guns among other things during the war.As the Americans got close a lot of guns got dumped into the canal/river that...

We Know you Ride, But do you Shoot?

Are you referring to Long Branch? I know that’s where the made the Lee Enfield Mark IV which is highly regarded among collectors. The building was still there up until a few years ago that I know of. I know the Inglis plant made Bren guns at their plant closer to the city near the CNE grounds...
