I would consider going up one tooth on the rear sprocket if you would like a little more punch. I went down one tooth on my front sprocket once and didn’t like it, that’s equivalent to going up about three teeth on the rear. One up on the rear is a nice noticeable compromise.

I know a lot of guys that do that and never had a problem. I probably wouldn’t do it on a Hyabusa though.

Most of my purchases were from Sprocket Center now that I remember. They had the best prices and quick shipping.

Maybe they’ve improved it but I remember hearing a lot of complaints that they were made from inferior metal and breaking easily. Sprocket Center endorses the RK tool, it’s the one they use. They are currently selling the RK tool for $120 US and the DID tool for $180 US ( on sale, regularly $209).

I usually get the RK replacement sprocket and chain kit either from Sprocket Center or Sprocket Specialist , whichever has the best price. RK makes a nice affordable tool for breaking and installing the master link, DID also makes a nice one but it’s way more money. Stay away from the Motion Pro...
