    COVID and the housing market

175 square foot social area. Small RVs are bigger. I assume the bedroom and bath are more generous.

    Science news of the day

There's a discussion that starts with a butterfly flapping its wings in the Sahara and builds it into a hurricane in Florida. There are so many "and ifs" in the theory that it's impossible to get people to believe the reality that it's the opening of beer cans changing the weather.

The Bad Drivers of Ontario Thread

In the USA they are using reading competency failure to pull drivers off the road. Would this be a factor. Also what defines "heavy"? I've seen a class D heavy truck come through the hairpin (10 wheeler cargo)

Nord-lock washers - where to buy in Toronto?

Near me, Brafasco is flakey often with minimums. If that's their business model, so be it. Bolts plus will sell anyone a bolt.

Why are cruisers so darn cheap?

There are enthusiasts, then collectors, then museum owners, going up the money ladder. Serious collectors and museum owners can play tax games to offset their purchase prices. They don't go after the low end stuff because they have the money and facilities to look after the collection. They go...

Why are cruisers so darn cheap?

I've been watching some Mecum auctions lately and not the upper crust stuff. Some cars are going for the cost of the paint job, maybe less. The combination of aging out boomers, the post Covid re-think, housing and job security issues, DJT antics etc has made vehicles once thought of as...

The Bad Drivers of Ontario Thread

I got delayed going up Carlingview on Saturday with the road closed. I asked the LEO for an alternate route and it wasn't easy. There are huge blocks of land with no cross roads. The airport, a golf course, the 427, 409. I asked if the closure was a crash or crime and was told both. Sounded...

    Scotch anyone?

I don't drink much scotch but keep a small bottle for ceremonial purposes. I have a silver quaich that gets dusted once in a while. However my stash of modest single malt is getting low and I'm too cheap to buy a full bottle. The LCBO doesn't seem to carry 375ml bottles of Glen Fiddich.

The Bad Drivers of Ontario Thread

In Toronto proper one can live without a car. Walk to neighbouroods, 24 hour transit, high cost of parking when you can find it. The burbs are different. How many Barrie drivers were trained in Toronto and retain the mind set?

Law Enforcement - The Good, The Bad, The Ugly.....

To deflect attention from this fiasco the Liberal party is funding a $12 Billion lolly-pop festival in Trout Creek. Thinking of the children of course. Sarcasm font.

20 years? I was driving my brand new 1980 Buick and went through an amber light thinking "I could have stopped". I checked my rear view mirror and five more cars came through after me.

    "Mind ya damn b'ness."

The corollary of the above posts is that the cobbler's kids go barefoot. I once needed a brass 6-32 screw and was completely out. Instead of a trip to HD I made one out of a brass rod. It was faster than the trip to HD and looked really nice. I saved 39 cents and a half hour.

    "Mind ya damn b'ness."

Recreational equipment has no shortage of disappointing stories and I can't help but feel that the situation is getting worse. I also can't help but feel technology is to blame and macho gear-heads are a dying breed. Small appliances get scrapped because a $4 plug is loose. If Mr. Macho...

    Tranny problem recommendations.

Additive? My wife's Chevy Uplander occasionally burped on the highway and a GM service manager suggested an additive. It didn't help. Then my Safari started doing the same thing and I tried the same additive and it was a complete cure. My hate is that you can't add anything to most of the new...
