The Bad Drivers of Ontario Thread

Doing some math... Should a commercial driver behind the wheel 10 hours every day have the same tolerance as a commuter driving 2 hours a day. No: The CD should be able to match his 5X exposure time to allow for 5X the transgressions. Yes: As pro, he should be trained to a higher standard.

    COVID and the housing market

It's also a great way to launder money if it's a principal residence. I was doing a repair in a very bland house being tarted up. I asked the electrician why the owner was spending so much money on a nothing special place. He replied that the owner owned a few strip joints and needed a way to...

    COVID and the housing market

It's a long term investment and you don't get your money back right away. Not far from that one is Neilson Drive where, over the last few decades, the bungalows and story and a half homes have been demolished and replaced with 3000 SF stone executive manors. A lot of houses in my area have...

The Bad Drivers of Ontario Thread

One problem with visible minorities is their visibility magnifies their actions. Give them a haircut and shave, trade the turban for a Stetson and they become better drivers.

FRAM Goes Bankrupt - Founder frigs off with $700 million

Think about the housing market. The governments create a demand for subsidized housing for the poor through bad planning. The middle income gets poorer paying for the housing. The rich developers pocket the profits.

He must be a Liberal. Justin spent over double that for a barn in Ottawa. The design and finish remind me of the old insult "You're ugly and you mother dresses you funny."

The new lawn tractors are junk.

How cheap can you make things? I noticed a rototiller at Princess Auto for $200. 33cc two stoke. I didn't look inside the box but questioned: Would it do the job? For how many years? Is it likely to maim you? There is satisfaction in having the right stuff.

Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

A bit of a side wipe but at the price of restaurants and hotels a lot of people aren't driving anywhere anyway. For me it would be a day trip or fly.

Go big or go home or both https://www.realtor.ca/real-estate/29976208/272-renforth-drive-toronto-markland-wood Down the street a short walk is a house similar to what this used to be. It's listed at $1.2 Million. There's nothing else in the area anywhere near $3M, especially a barn.

Wouldn't it be nice if all those people that assisted in the fraud had to pay their way out of it. Also copy the $250K income guy's letter to the CRA so they can apply the appropriate taxes.

    COVID and the housing market

Multiple whammies Prices down, interest rates up and a huge number of condo corporations with inadequate reserve funds. I think it was Harris that made the new condo act face the reality of what happens when reserve funds are inadequate. I read it as a way of avoiding masses of condo owners...

Why are cruisers so darn cheap?

A popular helmet sticker for Goldwingers is "If you can read this, my wife fell off" I've never polled pillion riders but wonder if just sitting and looking at the back of a helmet for hours on end is a fun thing. I've only ridden pillion once but the rider in command was a buddy's really...

Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

A ten hour recharge buys you 80 Km minus heating load to keep the cabin cozy. It's been mentioned that some commuters bundle up to avoid using the heater, especially if it's resistive. Unless everyone holds their breath, defrosters are needed. Obviously if you live 79 Kms from the parking lot...

Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

Wouldn't the block heater circuits be the equivalent of a class 1 charger, 8 KMs per hour of charge. Has winter driving been factored in with the batteries supplying the heat? Heat exchangers are better but a friend got stuck on the 400 and the two and a half hour crawl didn't suck out the...

    Canada Post - Huge losses

True / False As a crown corporation the crown owns it but isn't responsible for any debt should the corporation become insolvent. If true the government could be under attack if another crown corporation needed money and was denied. The pattern could be used against them.
