    How`s your house pricing doing?..

When we bought our house, we looked at another nearby. The owners of that house had bought a second house nearby and listed the first. When the first wasn't selling at quickly as they hoped, they listed the second house too. The second house sold first and they moved back into the first house...

The Bad Drivers of Ontario Thread

Ferrari driver nailed for 50 over on hwy 10 stops for cop in a live lane as he is worried about the gravel shoulder scratching his car. Sounds like his license should be revoked as he obviously has lots of money and zero common sense...

What did you do in your garage today..?

It may not be intentionally unique, it may just be using up oddball stuff. If you can get a container of seals that are a weird size (either intentionally or through a manufacturing screwup), it's easy enough to machine the parts to take them. As long as the parts fit together on day one, they...

    Did I ruin this tire?

Cutting a tire with a Sawzall is a nightmare. The teeth grab in the belts. Bolt cutters or a grinder make better progress.

Site performance is quite poor today

They do that when intentionally fiddling. It only happens every year or so. I suspect the recent slowness is insane load by AI bots.

    Canada Post - Huge losses

Rank and file are smarter than the union bosses. 85% voted to accept contract even when many of the union brass wanted it rejected. https://toronto.citynews.ca/2026/06/01/canada-post-workers-set-to-find-out-if-they-have-a-new-tentative-deal/

    Did I ruin this tire?

Small rims are much harder than large ones. You gave yourself a challenge right off the hop. At this point, you might as well practice burnouts and turn that one into smoke.

Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

For $650K, "not a fan of the styling" should not be the most common review. It will set a new record for fastest depreciating vehicle ever.

Dealer Demo Ride: "If you break it, you buy it!"

Local dealers don't have friends at the Ape shop? An introduction from a trusted contact can go a long way.

    E bikes rampaging Toronto streets

Ha. He has the pedals off (1:11 in video). That means he is not riding an ebike. He is riding an unlicensed, uninsured motorcycle. While complaining, through his actions, he made the case that the current bikes are terrible for everyone.

What did you do in your garage today..?

@Scuba Steve will have all of the knowledge on rebuild. A similar new torin can be delivered by Amazon for $200 or for similar money, costco has a 3 ton torin. If you price in your time, I can't see repair being cost-effective. If you view it as a project, I suspect you could get it fixed for...

Site performance is quite poor today

4500 guests now. I suspect @cutekill / @PrivatePilot need to add something to keep the crawlers/AI training bots at bay. That's an obscene load with no benefit for CK.

Enough of COVID...what are you doing to the house?

Don't you have a tractor? I used to use 3 point hitch to lift as it had a lot more jam than the bucket. Are they in concrete or just pounded in? If just pounded in, wobble wobble wobble, pull. A piece of chain and hydraulic jack gives you thousands of pounds of lift for zero additional cost (or...

I'd just board over the paneling for the ceiling.

Enough of COVID...what are you doing to the house?

I'm not just talking about the grooves. The panels will be wavy. Once you remove the wood grain, you will see the ripples and probably every nail dimple.

Zero percent chance I would paint them. They won't be remotely flat and would look terrible imo. I'd pull it down and use drywall. Good time to add receptacles or insulate bedroom walls too.

    Stocks

Near the beginning of this year I took some risk off. About 2/3 of resp into xbal and 5% of rrsp into brk. I hate holding cash so they do it for me. Both have underperformed badly but that is expected, they are there to catch the axe when it falls. Kids need the resp money in less than a decade...

    Canada Post - Huge losses

    Tool Deals Thread

I used to use dewalt when doing carpentry but kept blowing gearboxes so I moved on to red for most cordless things. They held up much better (with a few exceptions like a sawzall that doesn't like to work).
