Enough of COVID...what are you doing to the house?

You might get 10 dB improvement at best (impact sounds half as loud). Resilient channels above the drywall would be cheaper with a bigger improvement but obviously that would suck to do with tenants already there. I'd probably go with QT4010 if I was doing it on top and didn't have much height...

Enough of COVID...what are you doing to the house?

The SS rings are clips that are closed by something that looks like nippers. The tool is much smaller and easier to get in places. Sonopan may help or it may be mostly a waste. A lot depends on the entire construction (eg laminate/sonopan/ 5/8 OSB/2x12 joist/fibreglass drop ceiling). Post the...

What Are You Paying For Premium Fuel

Be careful with reserve gas. It's cheaper but I know lots of people that have moved away from it after experiencing engine trouble.

    Canada Post - Huge losses

Another $205M lost in Q1. Up from $50M Q1 loss in 2025. Post Media recently announced they are cutting their entire flyer division. That should reduce CP income substantially in Q3 and beyond. https://toronto.citynews.ca/2026/05/29/canada-post-quarterly-loss-205-million-labour/

What did you do in your garage today..?

Yes and no. Depending on the application, one or the other may be preferable. An impact gun has no feel, you hammer away and it either comes loose or breaks, a bar lets you feel/hear what is happening. Obviously using a huge breaker bar requires the vehicle to be incredibly well supported so it...

    Tool Deals Thread

Many of the M18 sawzalls have a major design flaw where the battery loses contact during use. It's very frustrating. The shaking slides the battery back and the contacts burn with high power through a small contact.

That depends on access. If you can only rotate a ratchet a few degrees, this will be miles ahead. I've been Using air rachets so far but keeping my eyes open for a battery ratchet as sometimes I don't feel like grabbing an air line. Unless it's balls tight, I break it free by pulling on the...

    R6 fans not running

Fans only draw 10 amps, I suspect any 12V relay would work with that load. Personally, I would want the fans on at a lower temp but a quick look shows that others don't have them come on until over 100C. I'd want a manual over ride so I could flick at least one of them on if I was stuck in traffic.

    R6 fans not running

Did you get into diag mode and D06 worked as expected? If D06 works and D51 doesn't I would suspect the fan relay but I've never wrenched on that bike. Unfortunately, @johnscruiser is no longer alive and @frekeyguy got busy with life and has been gone from the forum for more than a year.

    R6 fans not running

My guess is the sensor just breaks the connection when cold and makes it when hot. Paperclip or other wire between the two wires going to the sensor and if fans come on, you know the rest of the wiring is ok.

Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

The new Ferrari Luce is so ugly that Nissan is successfully trolling by comparing it to the Leaf. I can't find the original tweet. Was it real and disappeared or is the interweb leading us astray? https://www.facebook.com/reel/1850548012280110/

What did you do in your garage today..?

I have a 4', 3/4" drive breaker bar. I have bounced on it with my entire body weight and it didn't bend. That's good enough for me. I only need it once every few years.

We Know you Ride, But do you Shoot?

It's not that far fetched. I know paramedics that have been attacked and stabbed. When you need help now, cops are minutes away.

    Pay Day Loans

Even OSAP plays that game. Tell students that payments don't need to start for six months after graduating but neglect to mention that interest starts the day you graduate. When the igovernment nstitution providing most people their first loan is opaque and tries to screw you, it's hard to...

What did you do in your garage today..?

Most of my blowmolded cases don't have tools in them. They eat up a ton of space and are annoying to get tools out of. Cases live in storage and I can get them if I want (although I should probably just purge them all). I'm with you. Toolbox is safe. My torque wrench doesn't fit in the box so...

    Pay Day Loans

Common sense isn't so common anymore. Yolo and the budget will balance itself seems more popular. Or if you want to be cynical, many people don't plan for tomorrow as they hope an inheritance will solve their future issues.
