Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

The original installer could safely use a paired set of chargers but a good inspector thinks about the next occupant of the house. The second or third occupant may not be aware of the issues of doubling up.

    E bikes rampaging Toronto streets

A USA item: A kid on an e-bike hit and killed a pedestrian. The kid's mother has been charged because she gave him the bike. Maybe e-bikes need crash pictures on them like the ones they use on anti smoking ads. Nah! I as born smart.

    Anyone turkey hunting this weekend

It reminds me of trout from a trout pond. Someone told me to soak the fish in salt water for a day. Hmmm tasted like salty mud.

The ripple effect of a tragedy. Condolences to all.

Law Enforcement - The Good, The Bad, The Ugly.....

I wonder if our police services are on a covert work-to-rule system. Why bust your arse rushing to a crime scene, risking collisions, nabbing the criminal while sustaining minor injuries only to see the punks back on the street the next morning? Isn't the court system the problem? We keep...

Depending on height, My Astro / Safari vans weren't tall enough for a Sportster.

Enough of COVID...what are you doing to the house?

I would prefer this thread to deal with bricks and mortars. I'll leave it to the mods.

Enough of COVID...what are you doing to the house?

This would be better argued in the political forum.

I'm posting this in romper room because of renovation discussions. However it belongs in politics. Do not reply in Romper Room. Take comments to the political forum. Mods, dump or move as you see fit

    Fry pans

Isn't Teflon a forever plastic? Some early versions were machined into components and the machinists did't fare well. IMO they'e OK for a grilled cheese sandwich or a quick fried egg. The problem I have with thin pans is they warp when heated. Metal does that and thin metal is worse. An...

Enough of COVID...what are you doing to the house?

Go to Home Depot and pick up a 80 pound bundle of shingles, carry it down the aisle and back. Do it 90 more times. Still interested in DIY? The cost of materials for my job was likely about half so doing it myself would have saved three or four grand. My life is worth more. If friends help what...

Enough of COVID...what are you doing to the house?

I did an overlay. Working by myself I did one panel a day with there being seven panels. I did that in 1985 and had the next job by the pros in 2004 or 2005 for about $4K, stripping off the two previous layers.

My black overlay lasted 20 years. Just saying.

    Costco M/C insurance

Has anyone checked out their rates. I occasionally see their ads on social media, FB. Considering Costco's habit of taping stuff together to sell a package it would be nice if they did the same for people that had more than one bike.

    Sandblasting Cabinet

Bit of an offside but.... 50+ years ago I was working for a company and the owner owned a Maserati that he had imported from Italy Ghibli? One day he had me drive it over to a sandblasting shop to have the wheels blasted as they had corroded. I removed the knock off wheels old style with a...

Enough of COVID...what are you doing to the house?

In my case, a modest house, my roof was about $7K and would be about 4 years of reserve fund. Furnace and air would be about the same. An owned hot water tank should be in on the program as well. My driveway adds a bit. Renovation doesn't typically come from the fund because it can be...
