    COVID and the housing market

How is the housing market affecting the investment market? People not in the housing squeeze shouldn't be affected but but those tied into a nearing pre-build closing aren't likely to be topping up any plans. Are the investment gurus taking a hit with new money? Is anyone not afraid of domino...

Enough of COVID...what are you doing to the house?

Brown furniture is out and probably walls as well. Painting will make a change but I'd be afraid of warping and flaw enhancement as noted by GG. Drywall adds thickness so all trim needs adjusting including receptacles and switches.

At the time of his arrest, Joseph was bound by two separate release orders related to previous auto theft charges.

You forgot Lotteries. Growing up when the Irish Sweepstakes was the only game in town and illegal at that, it was different. If I saw something nice, a car or house, I would be told that to get it I had to work hard and save my money. Now it's "Win the lottery" "Work ethic be damned."

    Pay Day Loans

Yup. The day you signed the papers in the showroom. Not as some people assume, the day of delivery. One minute late and they drop the hammer.

    Pay Day Loans

They buy the long overdue debts at as little as 5%. Then they play the games. I knew a guy that got way behind but wanted to clear the debt. In a telephone conversation the collector offered to settle for 50% to clear things. He scraped together the 50% and once the cheque cleared the collector...

    Pay Day Loans

There are also the functional illiterate and mentally challenged. In Rain Man the character can do phenomenal calculations but has no sense of value. He'd pay $100 for a candy bar. I know such an individual with the foresight of a fifteen year old. Watching a war movie, he'll point out...

Does Toronto actually have a plan?

What a pile of hooey. Went to a neighbourhood safety / traffic / efficiency meeting last evening expecting some lively exchange of ideas. Nope. It was a display of about two dozen posters saying the city was looking into the problems and there were numerous zones in the city with similar...

Covering a bike in permit parking areas?

Do you have a walking foot sewing machine? Used industrial ones are around but they're big beasts IMO. Service and condition could be issues. US boating magazines used to advertise affordable Chinese portable ones but I haven't checked lately.

    Trailers

Years ago I took an evening upholstery class with the Toronto Board of Ed, making a bow cover for my vintage Glastron. It came out really well having a good instructor and a walking foot sewing machine. A convertible option, open or closed has benefits with windage and weather.

Not referring to Mad Mike but a lot of amateurs overbuild "to be safe". I've seen 2X4 tubing, 1/4" wall to haul camping gear. Harbor Freight used to carry some cheap kits but seems to be phasing things out. Considering rate of exchange and hassle it doesn't seem to be worth the effort.

Covering a bike in permit parking areas?

I stitched up a mini cover for my 1500 that covered the W/S and seat. It kept debris off the seat and hinted that the bike wasn't a park bench for posers.

I would have guessed higher. At $60 it's $3K. Materials at HD would be half that.

The neighbour is handling the fence but I was wondering what prices ended to run for 50 feet of PT fence, six feet high. Good access.
