    Restaurants

The issue I have with most "nice" restaurants is that I usually still leave hungry.

    Another Pancake Fix

Barry Lake Trail (Oompah to Calabogie) is also a good ADV ride in that area. It's an easy ride but there's plenty of challenging (real) trails and pits to explore thag run off that road. I haven't been to the pancake house either so will give it a shot one day soon.

The Government Took Our 600cc Supersports ("And People Are Furious")!

I used to ride a K9 GSXR1000 on the street and had a dedicated K7 GSXR600 track bike. Every single time I'd leave on my first track lap I'd do that 'knee-out, look down at motor' thing wondering if the engine was broke. Just so drastic a change from riding the 1000 all week then hopping on the...

    I also did a thing!

I went on the York, Pennsylvania Harley Davidson factory tour in 2018 (not willingly mind you) and it's funny that they're very strict on not allowing any photo's to be taken inside the factory. During the tour they said the frames on the big cruisers have been the same since 2008/9. Good thing...

    I also did a thing!

I have a couple pairs of these and they're excellent. No problems doing back to back 800km rides on a KTM seat. LDX Rides

    Chain lubricant

Any update to this experiment? My 1290 mostly stays dirty so the chain gets cleaned about as often as the rest of the bike. I do lube the chain after washing it though with a proper kerosene cleaning maybe twice a season. The dirtbike chain gets gunked up after just one ride even using offroad...

What did you do in your garage today..?

I remembered I have some Rust Check rust converter. Is that a better option than a vinegar soak? I also have some Krown and Keepit rust sprays that I’ll use to coat the tools afterwards.

What did you do in your garage today..?

What’s the easiest method for cleaning the light rust off of tools? I had a few days of warm outside air mixing with a cold floor causing a lot of condensation in my garage which I just realized today caused some light rusting on a few tools.

    I also did a thing!

Congrats, they're great bikes. Regarding the center stand: google the penny trick. I used this method to install the springs on my BMW S1000XR center stand and it works great.

What did you do in your garage today..?

I had some maintenance to do on the bike which necessitated giving it a decent cleaning. Since I was doing a full Spring detail on two cars anyways I gave the bike a proper cleaning and coating to make cleaning the mud off easier on the rare occasion I actually clean it.

    Anyone turkey hunting this weekend

Pretty normal to have 5' of snow in the yard so we don't usually have them mid-Winter. We get to see the babies get bigger through the Spring and they'll be noticeably bigger each week. Anything lagging behind gets taken out by the coyotes.

    Who's riding?

    S. Lavant has 2km of gravel still and they didn't look to be actively working to repave it. Some of 511 is getting a bit rough but it's still decent. I think there was another section torn up on the 509 as well (I did a bit of 'sploring so my memory is lagging). Everywhere else great. Let me...

    Who's riding?

Not a bad lunch view in Calabogie yesterday. Around 600km for the day. Lots of bikes, perfect weather.

    TwinPegs anyone using them?

Don't bother with twinpegs until you get more experience offroading. Only then will you know if you really need them. If you're offroading get ADV boots with REAL protection. 95% of the ADV boots have no protection at/above the ankle and are mostly for looks (ie. if the advertisement and reviews...

    Transalp review

My buddy bought one of the 23/24 bikes and after the first year he spent a good chunk on new shock and fork internals. Not sure on brand, he got them sent over from somewhere in Europe. Also put crash bars, a Motoz Adventure rear and AX41 front tires, and some other stuff. It's a great bike...

    Transalp review

It's a good bike but it's not all roses. Yes no cruise but it's not the only one in the group missing that. Suspension is rather poor on the first few years and has been upgraded a bit (stiffer) just recently. Still mostly not adjustable though. Gravel mode is useless if you want to actually go...

Poor Service and Questionable Inspection Standards at GP Bikes

A dealer refusing to work on a brand that they carry just because of age is a reason not to support that dealer. If the dealer can't get parts because the manufacturer isn't supplying them any more that can be explained to the owner after the bike is looked at as it's not the dealer's fault but...

Poor Service and Questionable Inspection Standards at GP Bikes

I would call them to ask first. What manufacturer is the bike?

What did you do in your garage today..?

I did this as well. Had no idea the kit existed until my second filter purchase and I commented how annoyingly expensive the filters are and how crummy the system is while at the parts desk. Not having to go out of my way to a JD dealer for a new filter is another plus.
