Problem area is not only sandy but also pure sun. I don't think fescue will do well in that but I'll look into it (likely to brown and go dormant in the summer). I agree peat/compost is definitely the better option now but I've got about an acre of soil to improve so may try tackling a section...
It starts with food soil which I don’t have. Pure sand here. I’ve added triple mix to the top, hydroseeded, fertilized, overseeded (6 times), watered, etc.
Lawn still sucks. I was told when I did the final grading I’d likely need to buy $5k in topsoil to get a good lawn but I continue to try to...
The 2016 Multi 1200S is one of my past bikes that I miss the most (I bought a lightly used one in '18 and put ~30,000km on it with zero issues). I ended up replacing it with a '17 BMW S1000XR that was too good of a deal to pass up and although the Beemer had the extra power that I wished the...
Same here. I have real Roundup that I've used to get rid of ivy but crabgrass is taking over much of my lawn. Green is green imo (as long as it doesn't make me itchy) but the crabgrass dies halfway through the summer so I'm left with a half brown lawn.
That's 100% how the old ex-racer guys I ride with are. We'll do a 75km evening ride and they'll show up 2hrs early to get their practice in so they're giving it full beans as soon as the group starts. In the end, they crash, I crash, sometimes we all crash. Good times.
Same reason Suzuki has opted to focus on the smaller displacement market for sales. Honda can absorb this and move forward. Sales of larger sized motorcycles isn't great for any of the manufacturers which has me a bit torn on buying any new toys (I bought a Victory and they stopped making them...
RF definitely looks better but it also has some buffeting (not severe but some) and since the car is so small you get less of what makes a convertible feel special when you just have that small targa opening. In photos I definitely liked the RF better but changed my mind after a test drive...
I gave up track days to go back to dirt. I had more friends getting injured and having other things get in the way so I decided to take a break and go back to dirt (I rode/raced dirtbikes for 20yrs previously). No regrets. I don't race dirt, just mostly competitive singletrack with some MX...
I couldn't figure out Basecamp either (I even watched the 5 or so YT videos on how to use it). I just try to remember the turns after looking at google maps and if I make a wrong turn it's just part of the adventure (hmmm maybe that's why I mostly ride solo now).
I have garage space if you want to leave it at my place :)
When I saw that HD was bringing back the air Sporty I thought for the first time "Hey I wouldn't mind having one of those" for casual rides. Monster 1200S is in line first though if I add another bike.
Speaking of trailers, what would a galvanized 5x8 utility trailer be worth these days? I don’t recall the brand, it’s quite heavy duty though and has a new 2” PT floor in it. It was actually bought from someone on this site years ago and still has there Pro6 stickers on it :)
It’s just a bit...
I like the idea of bringing back the oldschool Sportster. Cars, bikes, etc are getting to the point where adding power/performance isn't beneficial as it can't be used on the roads so the alternative to adding performance is adding character. That's what the air-cooled Sportster offers.
I had a zipper fixed at the tailer last week and when paying there was a tip option (starting at 15%). My whole payment was for a service and now you want a tip on top of that? The owner was the only employee as well.
