    Tool Deals Thread

Sure. It's your thread, you can change the title to "Tools Deal Thread". And then, as the French musicians say, "Viola!"

Dealer Demo Ride: "If you break it, you buy it!"

It's a very real possibility that we may have two of those in the garage... We may be doing a test ride of a bike with the V2 engine soon. It's not the DesertX V2 (too new), but at least we can judge how responsive the powerplant is vs the 937cc Testastretta. A lot of our riding buddies ride...

    Did I ruin this tire?

Heating up the tire will also help with the pliability - use a hair dryer or space heater, but also laying it out in the sun for a while.

Fuel get this pun, but I did. Diesel definitely make me chuckle, so Oil Tank you for that!

Cool! What did you think of it with the new suspension upgrades?

Dealer Demo Ride: "If you break it, you buy it!"

I test rode the F900GS a couple of years ago and was impressed with the engine. A lot peppier off idle than the 890/901. But the biggest drawback is tank range. Tank was empty after 275 kms, after giving it the beans in the loose stuff. Only 14.5L which is BMW (and a lot of other manufacturers)...

Dealer Demo Ride: "If you break it, you buy it!"

A Triumphant Try-Out Neda has been having lots of issues with her Norden 901 lately and we are gearing up a for a big trip later on this year. As a result, we're getting a bit wary about taking this bike on the road if it's going to continue to cause us problems. I've been trying to persuade...

Well, I F-ed up my non-reg portfolio (AND my TFSA  ) , so almost all my networth is in RSPs, but surprisingly and despite that, NW at an all-time high on Friday. Anyway, even if I'm wrong, parking the cash in a MM fund is not the worst move at this time. Plus being all registered, no...

GP Bikes: A Masterclass in Operational Incompetence and Mechanical Neglect

Longtime customer as well, from back in the Ajax days. Their service dept is terrible. Had big problems a couple of years ago when a miscommunication between their parts dept and service dept netted me the wrong size tire. Lots of fingerpointing, "We're not Parts. We're Service. That's a Parts...

Site performance is quite poor today

ATI! They made graphics cards as well. I started off with a green-screen CRT monitor and quickly bought the very newest CGA card: 640x200 and 16 colours! Luxury! Later on, I climbed the upgrade ladder of ATI adapters, CGA->EGA->VGA->SVGA etc. They were a very big name in the industry. ATI was...

Site performance is quite poor today

Some weird flexing going on in this thread... might as well join in. In school, we worked on PDP-11s running a variant of Unix. I was a few years too late and missed the hole (pun intended) punch-card era but my teacher had a big box of them sitting on his desk. Got my first computer around...

Sold into the rally. Sitting on a pile of cash right now waiting for the pullback. If Trump calls an end to the war over the weekend then I've left a lot of money on the table. If he escalates, then I'll buy back in when market exuberance dies early next week. Too chicken to go all into O&G...

I believe markets are pricing in an end to the Iran war. O&G trending down, everything else climbing. I think I know what the Orange Turd is doing, he's waiting for end-of-close of the market day and week to either turn down the deal on the table and/or escalate the war this weekend so he...

A lot of my friends are not good with money. They will be the first to admit it. It's okay with me. I'm not good at other things that they excel at. We've all got our strengths and weaknesses. What *is* a red flag is when someone is bad with money - poor impulse control, trying to project an...

So many variables as to why people get themselves into dire straits, financially. - financial literacy: an inability or lack of training to understand math, interest rates and options available to them - impulse control: inability to make a distinction between necessities and luxuries...

    Pay Day Loans

There are plenty of organizations set up for financial counselling and debt relief. Here's one for example: https://www.creditcanada.com/ However, if you don't have the aptitude to search for FIs with the best lending rates for unsecured credit, chances are those are the exact same skills...

And yet, from what little I remember of Grade 6, there were some students who were good at math, and some spectacularly bad at it. If you don't believe math is an aptitude, not sure what your take on the above scenario is? That people have done the Grade 6 math and know full well they are...
