    Fry pans

Not quite the right thread, but pretty close so here goes. Does anyone know of a George Foreman style grill that doesn't use coated grill plates? I use my little 2 serving Foreman grill all the time but I only get about 3 years out of the plates before the coating starts to wear off, and they...

    I, too, did a thing

I burn less oil... Maybe it feels a bit stronger, but that could just be my imagination. I went with the 685 just to stop the oil burning, apparently the 705 or 715 kits offer a more significant bump in power with the tradeoff being having to re-sleeve the cylinder. Of course, I'm running the...

    I, too, did a thing

Perfect time for a rebuild. I did mine last year at about 75,000km. New 685cc piston, thermo-bob and Cogent Dynamics suspenders front and rear. Rides better than new, and is 30lbs lighter than a stock Gen 3 even with all my farkles. Total cost for parts/machining was about $2,500. Anyway...

    I, too, did a thing

I use mine as my keychain fob. The metal on the bottom curved bit was worn down to maybe 1mm thick. This was when the bike had 7,000km on it. I have no idea if the problem has been addressed in the 20 years since my bike left the factory, but it's a pretty easy thing to check.

    Odd looking

According to Google: The WiLL Vi is a quirky, "neo-retro" subcompact car produced by Toyota from 2000 to 2001 for the Japanese domestic market (JDM). Designed for a youth-marketing project, it features a unique "cliff-cut" rear window, 1.3L engine, and shares its platform with the Toyota...

    What are you reading?

A history of Canada in 10 maps by Adam Shoalts A History of Canada in 10 Maps Very interesting look at the charting of early Canada. His chapter on the journeys of Alexander McKenzie was particularly well done. Not a dry historical text at all.

    What are you reading?

Have you tried loading books onto your reader using Adobe Digital Editions on your PC? I have an older Kobo reader that doesn't play well with directly downloading from the library so I just browse the library's Overdrive website on the PC, download the book onto my computer using ADE and...

Where are all the trials bikes?

Hello trials riders, I'm looking to swap my dual sport for a trials bike this year. The dual sport is just too heavy and I've always preferred the tight, technical trail riding over the fast open sweepers that my riding buddies get all excited about so I figured why not lean into it and go...

The Bad Drivers of Ontario Thread

At the daycare just down the street from home the snowbanks mean that the parents can't load the kiddies from the sidewalk so they're all loading from the street side. Of course, they park on both sides of the street because they're too lazy to walk 50ft down the street. So every morning and...

    Boat Rentals

As a boat owner I have absolutely no problem with this. $24 and 5 minutes of my time every 5 years is an incredibly small price to pay. Maintaining databases of vehicle licenses is not free and the cost should be borne by the users of said vehicles instead of the general taxpayer. Doug Ford...

Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

I think I'll file that one under "I'll believe it when I see it". A tiny Finnish motorcycle company has beaten every automotive company in the world to making a production ready EV with solid state batteries? Seems pretty questionable. 300km of range in just 10 minutes of charging and they...

Enough of COVID...what are you doing to the house?

I'd probably try a thermal camera before tearing the house apart. Either a standalone unit or a phone attachment: Amazon IR cameras

Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

ABS and airbags have been required for decades now and have nothing to do with the recent spikes in car prices. As for cameras, automated braking, etc., I think that the only requirement for new cars in Canada is a reversing camera. All the rest is just manufacturer's choice. They put it in...

    Honda recalls

CUPW says that the rotating strikes are only effecting rural areas, yet not one piece of mail has been delivered to anyone at my 30 unit apartment building since the 10th. Even the junk mail bin by the mail boxes is sitting empty. At work, we have about a dozen cheques that we mailed out in...

    Honda recalls

Hmm, the CRF300L gas cap recall has no details on the Honda website. Oh well. I guess I might eventually get a notice in the mail if the posties decide to start working again. Hopefully I don't get my nads burnt off in the meantime by an exploding gas tank because of CUPW...

    Modem issues.

If you're experiencing the same issues with a new modem, it may not be a problem with the modem at all.
