    Where to get a puppy?

Get a tick twister thing. Lots of different types. Amazon.ca They twist out the head too. Tweezers can leave it in.

Finished the Jo Nesbo series Detective Hole on Netflix. Very Nordic Noire indeed. I really enjoyed it as there were some scenes in there that were genuinely shocking and different. If you watch it all then you’ll understand immediately. I hope there’s a season 2 as this is a great start with...

Enough of COVID...what are you doing to the house?

Some people with more money than sense decided they wanted a pool in their back yard near us. Reality set in once they were provided with options for different depths of the pool and excavation methods and cost. The deeper pool would have required blasting through underlying limestone. They...

    Science news of the day

Got to admit, since it was basically done 50 years ago it just makes that OG launch even more impressive. I missed the launch today, I wasn’t that motivated to watch it since it’s a repeat.

Enough of COVID...what are you doing to the house?

There’s a small heater in there trying to take the chill off. I really hope this doesn’t mean that I have to insulate the thing next. All this from trying to make an oil change easier. Now I need to add some wall anchors for the resistance bands. The industrial shelves are very solid but I...

    Degreaser Recommendation

Like dissolves like. The best degreaser will be something that is “like” grease which is why kerosene works so well. The problem is kerosene isn’t “like” water so now you have another problem if you want to wash away the greasy kerosene afterwards. Hence why you have products like simply green...

Enough of COVID...what are you doing to the house?

Garage organisation and floor done. Quite happy with how the floor turned out. Fair bit of room but not too much head height. There won't be many standing presses going on. Bought some compact resistance band set ups for the new "gym". Sent from my SM-S938W using Tapatalk

You may need subtitles. Brummie is an unusual accent.

I was going to post about this. 5 seasons, over 100 episodes to binge. Decent stories and a decent cast. I started it a few weeks ago (not sure how I missed it originally) on episode 15 of season 1. Lots of fun. Also started a Jo Nesbo series on Netflix. Scandinavian Noire. Very...

Enough of COVID...what are you doing to the house?

Rona has 3x4 ft x 3/4” thick rubber pads for $34. Might be worth getting a few. They weigh 48 lbs a mat so a bit more manageable than the ones from the local bridle shop which are 100lbs a mat and 8x6.

My fishing rod is on hooks on the ceiling. It’s already started.

Enough of COVID...what are you doing to the house?

Not got to that yet. Just finishing up the shelving plus there’s a bunch of crap on the floor to throw out. Amazing how much stuff that’s totally useless gets hoarded at times.

Enough of COVID...what are you doing to the house?

Seems my skid plate cutting which led to a garage overhaul has now freed up enough space in the garage for a small gym space. I'm laying down some foam flooring tiles from an online gym equipment place but now need to get space saving equipment as there’s not that much room there. No room for...

    Soccer/football thread 2022

Sad but I think that’s about right. He’s turned into a provider rather than a goal scorer. His legs have gone a bit from previous seasons. Liverpool might not get anything for him in a free transfer but the $800k a week he was getting will go towards another player.

    Motocraft Festival Picton Aug. 1-3

There’s been some local murmurings about Base 31. Not sure how serious things are but I think there were layoffs maybe etc. I’ve not been yet but will check it out at some point. I'm not sure I want to head out for a moto show though and if I’m camping I do that to stay away from people. If...

    The knife thread

This is my favourite knife. It’s one of the few Spyderco folder/flippers where the blade is completely hidden in the handle. https://spyderco.com/products/ikuchi%e2%84%a2 Other Spydercos have a wide profile that I don’t really like. Fantastic quality on this thing. I had to keep an eye out...

What did you do in your garage today..?

From my post in “technical” where my aluminum plate cutting led to a garage overhaul. Started this today and assembled two sets of industrial shelves. Everything was going just fine until the last shelf slipped on assembly and sliced off a bit of my thumb pad. It bastard stings. Garage looks...

Hmm. Some Leathermans with 15% discount at Altitude Sports but still pricy and also US. I’d love a Charge but it’s $200 MSRP.

Watching this documentary is like rubber necking at an accident. I simultaneously felt dirty for contributing to the oxygen these wastes of space will do anything for while also feeling horrified that this subculture exists at all and then I felt sad sad that so many impressionable young men...
