Front end/ Suspension shops around the GTA

How's the stiction in the forks? Could be twisted in the triples as well. Accelerated is good, but may be a bit far. I've been to John a few times and usually wait with my bike as he's good at teaching what he's doing so I can learn something while paying for the work.

    Stocks

Bank mutual funds are very seldom the best choice because their management fee's are often horrendous (often in the 2-2.5% range and a mid single digit return). Most people would do better with a single balanced ETF. For example compare your MF's numbers to that of a balanced ETF like Vangards...

What did you do in your garage today..?

I usually do air filters at 30k but swapped this one early as I couldn't explain the loss in mpg. Maybe it got a bunch of Krown rust spray in there or maybe it just sucked up a lot of dirt between factory to dealer. Will check this new one at 15k. I'll take a look at the cabin filter this...

What did you do in your garage today..?

Changed the air filter on my F150 this morning as mileage has been noticeably poor. 17min drive (this direction is slightly uphill) I averaged 15.4L/100. Same drive today (slightly downhill) after the filter change was 9.8L/100. The incline/decline will affect it a bit but not that much...

    2026 MotoGP (spoilers allowed)

Geez a wonderful Sprint followed up by a spectacular first GP. Hoping it's the start of an amazing season. Honda has found some speed which I like to see as well.

    Saw amazing today...

Dump runs in Nova Scotia we'd see a row of seagulls on a pile of dirt and you could watch the eagles come grab one at will. Our cat follows us around outside and if he wanders too far from us you'll see a hawk or two start circling quite low above us.

    CFMoto 800 MT-X adventure bike.

Proven track record isn't there yet nor is the dealer network. Price-wise, there's plenty of leftover KTM 790/890 Adventure discounted to the same price as that and offers better spec especially if opting for the R version. Vstrom (or Transalp) would be my choice if serious offroad chops weren't...

    Car Tire place East End?

Research showed me the tires I wanted were Coopers (Road&Trail AT) and /i found the best price at CT. Coopers are also owned by Goodyear so I asked the local Goodyear store if they'd price match which they did. I put more faith in Goodyear changing tires (not scratching wheels) on my brand new...

    2026 WSBK (spoilers allowed)

Handsome looking bikes as well imo. As long as someone is challenging Bulaga each weekend I'll be happy.

What did you do in your garage today..?

Replacement carbs can usually be found on Amazon for peanuts and often arrive next day. Lots of them used by guys on the snowblower forum with perfect results. Keep the rebuilt oem one as a spare.

What Are You Paying For Premium Fuel

I don’t pay a lot of attention when selecting the premium fuel option while riding but a buddy sent me this photo yesterday from the Shell in Cobourg. 1.20 for Regular and 1.86 for Premium seems rather excessive to me. I thought maybe it was a mistake but apparently this is normal pricing for...

    2026 Rides

Padded shorts is mine. Last year I did a 1200km dayride and at the end of it was fresh enough that I could have done it again the next day. And that was on a stock KTM seat! My second item would be a rechargeable battery pack (for phone, helmet comms, etc). Number three would be a rechargeable...

The "Official" Watch Thread and all Things Horological

Not watch related, but anyone know a trustworthy coin appraiser? Coins mostly in the 50-100yr old range.

    Robert Duvall…RIP

He was one of my favourite actors. I didn’t know he was as old as he was. RIP

The "Official" Watch Thread and all Things Horological

I was given a few pocket watches and I’m not a watch person. Anyone know anything about these things (ie. are they worth selling or tossing)?

Enough of COVID...what are you doing to the house?

Changed the anode rod in the hot water tank and it had styrofoam about 2” think that I had to dig out to get at the top of the rod. Is it worth it to buy spray foam and cover it again or is the plastic cap enough? Looks like they just encapsulate the tank in foam then put the metal cover around...

    Stocks

With vehicles/toys getting more complicated it's making me wonder if parts availability will be an issue in the long run and it makes me not want to buy anything. Getting parts for 10yr old snowmobiles can be a hassle and in terms of cars try finding a BCM for a early C5 Vette or headlights for...
