If the safety switches are allowing me to crank it over could they still be impeding spark?

    I, too, did a thing

The doo-hickey issue is highly over rated, likely by the guy building replacements. I have friends who never changed it and never had an issue.

    I, too, did a thing

All my KLR buddies in the KLusteR seem to think 65,000kms is the best before date for KLRs. I didn't want to believe it but with almost 70K on the clock it's showing it's age. I had an issue last fall and now the spark and shock problem so I thought it was time. Sadly mine was the last Gen1 in...

    I, too, did a thing

Broke my own rule about not buying a new motorcycle. Unfortunately the selection of used Gen3's is so low I ended up with new. I'll be picking it up next week. Mine is exactly as shown below except mine is an S model which is factory lowered. The second new vehicle I have ever owned. FWIW this...

    Pooched CDI??

Can you translate that for the hard of thinking? Where do the leads go and what am I setting the meter to?

    What about a motorcycle's age?

2006 klr650 - 613$ 2025 klr650 - 847$ from Desjardin. Newer bike has ABS and is a safer ride. Riddle me that one.....

    Pooched CDI??

The line out of the CDI to the coil (+ side I believe) is getting about .5V with the engine cranking over. If the engine cranks then kill, neutral and clutch interupts are good correct? Not sure what this means or how/where to get the reading.

    Pooched CDI??

KLR has no spark. Checked with a meter when cranking the starter the power into the coil was around 0.50V. I was expecting much closer to 12V. Popped all the connections between the CDI and the coil cleaned them all and it made no difference. Thoughts?? The way I've ridden this thing hard and...

Hockey bags for lugging/storing moto gear (off bike)

Is the helmet in exchange for a carry on bag or does it qualify as the "personal" bag?

    Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride

Thanks. Both rides are about the same length. Can't see riding to either location w/o gear so I'd likely trailer over. That means an 11am start works much better. I don't know what I'd wear but it can't hold a candle to that gangster shown above. Where's your violin case?

    Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride

I was considering this but can't find any info about the actual Waterloo ride (start location & time, duration, after ride meet up etc) Ric did you have to register and make a donation before any of that was available? I'm considering joining either the Waterloo or London ride. The London ride...

    VFR coolant leak

That's very dry. Have you seen that area wet? Nothing there would concern me. Have you seen puddles under the bike? Are you topping up repeatedly?
