If you and Wingboy are as old as I think you are you’ve probably seen her a million times in your youth and just don’t realize it. Millennials won’t stand a chance. I’ll start giving hints at the end of each day.

    Oil Spec for 2025 RAV4

I’ve got a great mechanic that works mostly on European cars that tend to have long service intervals. He said the engines in those cars tend to have a lot more sludge buildup in them.Would that cause an engine failure in the average lifespan of a vehicle? Probably not.

    Oil Spec for 2025 RAV4

I follow the maintenance schedule in the manual while under warranty and try to do oil changes at the dealership a little sooner rather than later but not by much. Out of warranty I do my own oil changes at 10,000km. any sooner I think is a waste of money. The 5000km. oil changes were...

    RIP Catherine O'Hara

I was talking to a guy a few years back that bumped into her in a bakery in Goodwood where they filmed Schits Creek and said she was the nicest person you would ever meet, Eugene Levy was a different story. A friend of mine was a cable installer, for Roger’s I think, in the 80’s and had to...

We Know you Ride, But do you Shoot?

When is this Liberal government going to admit that this gun buy back program is a complete failure, just like the long gun registry. What is their end game and believe me there is one. The only thing this is accomplishing is turning law abiding gun owners into criminals while the real criminals...

    Shop recommendations ( RC51 )

Best bet would be a Honda dealership. Get a quote obviously before giving them the go ahead, it’s only 2 cylinders so it’s pretty straightforward. I had a VFR 800 of about the same vintage that I checked the valves on at 50,000km. All were well within spec.

Where did your motorcycle come from ?

I’m also surprised Germany doesn’t show up on that list. I would imagine that BMW would outsell Ducati worldwide. I’ve never owned a BMW but if I were to get another bike it would be one of their RT’s. It would probably outlast me and be my last bike.

Where did your motorcycle come from ?

All of Honda’s generators, snowblowers, lawn equipment etc. that I owned in the 80’s and 90’s was made in Japan and was really good stuff but as I’ve been replacing them I’ve noticed that they are now made in China, I think their snowblowers are assembled in the US. I guess that’s the case with...

Where did your motorcycle come from ?

Thats very surprising, not at all what I would have expected. I thought Japan would have been a strong first.

    Shannonville 50 years

I just had a funny memory of my first trip to Shannonville in 1981. It was the opening weekend in May 1981. I rode out on the Saturday evening with a friend. Three of my buddies drove out in a Dodge Dart and got lost. It was dark and foggy and they spotted a phone booth in middle of nowhere...

One thing I remember about the Hondas of that era, I worked on many, they were never the fastest but the fit and finish on them in general was much better than Suzuki and Kawasaki.

I think your right, they created an open production class but that may have been in ‘84. I don’t think there was one in ‘82. As for the CBX, it was 1025cc’s so it would have been able to race in Superbike. Very few were ever raced or were successful in Superbike. Although an engineering marvel...

Your right about Michel Mercier, they actually called his bike “The Magic Bus”, they must have changed the rules about displacement when 1100cc plus became more common. I was at Shannonville on the Friday of a race weekend when Steve Dick, pretty sure it was him, showed up with a factory Eddie...

I also remember that originally, Superbikes were required to be based on a factory production bike. That was the starting point, a 1000cc bike off the production line. Well a year or two later race bikes started showing up that had no sign of the tubing that held the passenger foot pegs and...

That’s not how I remember it. I don’t ever remember an Open Production class. As I said Pro Superbike was limited to 1025cc in Canada, basically a 1000 bored out to clean up the cylinders.I think the idea was to promote sales of the 1000cc class motorcycles which were very popular at the time...

I was also there the weekend in 1981 that Art handily won Amateur Superbike on pretty much a bone stock, red, first year 1980 Suzuki GS1100 , I had the exact same bike. As was the tradition back then, they let the top ten amateurs run in the Pro Superbike race to give them some seat time and fill...
