    Daily sports car?

I was just going to say the same. I'm not a purist. Keep the body shape, but personally, the interior needs to be updated.

    Daily sports car?

C3 for me. All day, every day. I do like the C8 a lot too, but the rear end seems a bit incongruous to the rest of the car, design-wise.

Thinking of trading my V-Strom 650XT for the new Himalayan 450 – need your thoughts!

If you haven't noticed, there are a lot of ballers on GTAM. Check out the "I buy and sell motorcycles on a whim, like I breathe air" folks in this thread: https://www.gtamotorcycle.com/xf/threads/how-long-does-it-take-to-pull-the-trigger-on-a-bike-purchase.233736/ ;)

Agree with the above --^ If you can afford it, buying and trying out different bikes will give you much needed hands-on education, as opposed to reading the opinions of people online who may have vastly different experience and use cases from the goals you have set for yourself. "India? Why TF...

    Donating to charities

Good point. I used to volunteer and serve as a board member at a suicide prevention hotline. We received funds from a few umbrella charity fund-raising organizations, which we were always grateful for. However, many umbrella fund-raising services have high overhead costs, and when they...

Thinking of trading my V-Strom 650XT for the new Himalayan 450 – need your thoughts!

You can put away the IED bomb suit around me. No argument here. Only thing I'd be wary of is using a term like "middle displacement" or "middleweight" when talking about ADV bikes. The industry has co-opted this term and applied it to bikes that, to me, are very heavy historically-speaking...

Thinking of trading my V-Strom 650XT for the new Himalayan 450 – need your thoughts!

Some thoughts: Weight seems to be an issue stopping you from off-roading, so don't move from your 476lb V-Strom to another bike in the same weight class (460lb Transalp, 450lb T7, 460lb KLR650, 474lb Tiger 800Xcx). A 25lb weight loss is negligible and will do nothing to ease your trepidation...

    EICMA 2025

Totally agree. Love the shark gill sides, the larger headlights and most of all the SSSA. New one has the larger TFT with more info and has that logger where you can analyze lap times, sectors, and all your inputs based on GPS, That is cool tech!

To @Hardwrkr13's point, "off-road" is such a sliding scale of difficulty/gnarliness. It'll help your shopping to narrow down what that means for you personally. At DV, I've done Titus Canyon and Racetrack Playa and they're very big-bike friendly routes - doable on a R1250GS. You don't need a...

haha, my wife stayed late at work, where they had cable, to watch Game 7. Had to eventually leave because they went so far into extra innings. Came home and just continually refreshed the score on the sports websites.

Good to know! Currently only subscribe to two streaming services: Netflix and Spotify. The cost starts to creep up once you add in Apple, Prime, Disney, etc. It's more expensive than cable TV was, once you get past a certain number! I'm even debating cutting NF out because so much of...

Thinking of trading my V-Strom 650XT for the new Himalayan 450 – need your thoughts!

I've ridden a V-Strom 650 for a season, but haven't ridden the new Himmie 450 yet, but it's on my test-ride list. Rode the outgoing version (411), it's a right old POS, quality-wise and handling-wise IMO. Heard good things about the 450, but most of it is from the moto press and they've been...

    Carpuride?

One "negative" is that you have to run two separate power cables, one for the Carpuride (or Chigee, or whatever remote display you're using) and another one for your actual phone that is casting the screen. I guess if your trips are short, you can just run your phone battery down and recharge...

Cord cutters here as well. Saving a lot of money, but the live sports is the hardest loss. Olympics and tennis are the big ones for my wife. We tried doing the TSN and CBC sports subscription for the month(s) those are on and suspending it after the event is over, but the interface is clunky...

How long does it take to pull the trigger on a bike purchase?

Same. Most of the time it's the price-point and finances that tips the decision. If I can't afford to pay for it, I won't buy it. I refuse to take on debt for toys. That's a one-way trip to Freedom 95.
