Friend of mine took her SC out to the track, seemed not too bad. May have been the one with the higher bars and lower pegs? Seating position looks no worse than your typical supersport. 🤷‍♂️

Well, things have gotten worse (and better?) since this post. My registered portfolio has done spectacularly well... and my non-reg has done spectacularly poorly. Net worth is up, but almost all of it is now in RSPs. Happy, but also Not at the same time... 🤔 Depending on how my non-reg port...

To be fair, all cafe racers are, by definition, uncomfortable to ride. After all, they are only supposed to get you to the next cafe. In style, course...

Nice! So shiny! I can smell that new helmet scent from here! :ROFLMAO:

Lot of money for not a lot of bike. Pretty basic Scrambler underneath the new fairing. Didn't even use the 1100 platform. Low effort on their part. They said they were honoring the 1973 750 Supersport: but then came out with this: Something definitely got lost in translation... They did...

Two weeks till the first race in Thailand! Lots of pre-season drama: - New Yamaha V4 suffers major engine problems during testing - Toprak not looking optimistic - Super-early Silly Season with 2027 signings already underway, riders placing their bets on which team will come out of the...

    BC shooting

Folks, the incident in BC is a horrible tragedy. Regardless of your feelings about transgendered individuals, let's keep all discussions civil and remember that there are lots of trans people that do not commit mass shootings and be mindful of keeping these two issues separate. All trans...

    MacDoc's rides 2015 CB300 to 2018 MT03 to 2017 GS310 to 2014 CB500F.

100% The speed cameras are mainly concentrated in the populated areas. If you want to go for a spirited ride in the countryside at "extra-legal" speeds, you can do so without fear of getting a ticket in the mail. As you enter towns and villages, the speed limits and cameras are clearly marked...

    New helmet fit

Maybe wear the helmet on some rides for a week or two before spending the cash to change out any liner parts. The heat and sweat will flatten those cheek pads very quickly. I always buy new helmets tight on the cheeks. By the middle of the season, they are perfectly broken in.

    Who's Still Riding? - 2025/2026 Edition

7°C and sunny. Don't get too many of these days in February! Took the big bike out for a spin! We've had a string of warm days, so the snowline has receded quite a bit up the mountain. Able to get the bike dirty without hitting snow or ice. Felt good to be out in the sun on two!

    Winter Escape: Riding Baja Mexico

They do give you the option of 250s for beginners and if you opt to do more technical riding. However, sand riding in the Baja is quite popular and you need a fairly strong motor to pull you up those steep dunes.

    TPMS on snow tires?

Automobiles have been driven for over a century before TPMS was invented, so IMO, not necessary. Things to consider: - my Tacoma flashes an error on the dash if it cannot find the TPMS sensors in the wheel. If you're okay with looking at a yellow light on the dash the entire winter, then go...

    Winter Escape: Riding Baja Mexico

Winter is a tough time for me. Not being able to jump on my bike anytime I want makes me go a little stir-crazy. Our friends just invited us for a Mexico vacation. Seemed like a great time to also get some two-wheeled throttle therapy in! We're here at the southern tip of the Baja Peninsula...

    Looking for Wingmen

Sounds like you've done your research. An older 'Wing seems to fit your requirements quite nicely, and not a lot of drawbacks for your use case too. Happy hunting and looking forward to your tales of Winging it on the road!

    Looking for Wingmen

Personally, I like bikes that are capable of a decent lean angle. Depending on the MY, most GLs will top out around 40°. A sport-tourer should be capable of at least 45°, which is more my jam. I've ridden a BMW R1250RT, it started scraping pegs around 48°. I like that.

2012 GL1800 Handles a lot better than the wet weight would lead you to believe. Flat 6 engine with its low centre of gravity has a lot to do with it. As for comfort, if you're coming from the cruiser world, the chair position will feel very familiar. If you're coming from a naked, adventure or...
