    its here....

What about the sound levels? The Concorde did flights over our house during some CNE air shows and it was loud. Draining a large air compressor is loud. The volume of gases to achieve the demonstrated activities would make the Concorde sound quiet. Mufflers would negate the thrusts.

Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

We're low mileage drivers so gas is about $100 a month. The battery cost math doesn't work for us. I also wonder where the manufacturers will get residual income. Brakes and tires? Software subscriptions?

    E bikes rampaging Toronto streets

I can not understand a parent who thinks an e scooter can't cause physical injury. Then there's the dad riding two up with a six year old in front. In an impact, the 200 pound dad smashes the kid between a stupid person and a hard object.

Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

In nasty weather with an ICE car needing fuel and full of passenegers, the driver gets out into the cold or wet for four or five minutes and the drive continues. With an EV the driver plugs in and goes back inside for four or five times longer but is warm and dry, chatting with the gang. A...

    COVID and the housing market

A friend in Trenton commented his dad only paid cash. He finally bought a cottage for cash when his son was around 20. His son was old enough to want to spend weekends in the city with his friends but would have loved the cottage fishing with his father when he was younger.

    COVID and the housing market

One problem is having a house that is OK and works but you'd like something better. If you sell first to know what you have in hand to spend what if you don't find another place that you would like? The moving expenses wipe out years of gain and you're still not in the right home. Conditional...

Enough of COVID...what are you doing to the house?

If that bothers you just replace the cap, an afternoon's work. I'm not sure how shingles fold in cold weather .

Law Enforcement - The Good, The Bad, The Ugly.....

Christa Pike should be dead but the lethal injection(s) failed with her recovering in hospital. Convicted at 18 or 19 followed by thirty years on death row and she's back in prison. Expect lots of appeals and delays.

Enough of COVID...what are you doing to the house?

In six months the new roofing season will be starting. If it wasn't urgent I'd wait for the season to start whether or not it's DIY. If the one spot bothers you just do a small overlay there. If your existing roof is three tab a DIY overlay is possible. It worked for me but it isn't easy...

So it's that time again....winter pasttimes?

Be careful on extremely low calorie diets. Starvation cause the brain to permanently put the body in high efficiency mode and it never reversts to normal. I know people that can meet their daily caloric needs with a burger combo. Nutritional needs are more demanding.

I don't know how y'all city slickers do it...

E scooters, Uber E-bikes and virtually no enforcement has made it noticably worse in the last few years.

CAD has improved the situation for newer buildings. A contractor gets a file not a drawing. 50 year old complete rolls are hard to find.

Enough of COVID...what are you doing to the house?

A friend wants me to put in a safety grab rail in his bath. The problem is it's a condo and I don't know the wall construction. With it being a highrise it won't be wood. I'm guessing drywall over metal studs or block. It was built in the 1980's. The last thing I want to do is drill through a...

Law Enforcement - The Good, The Bad, The Ugly.....

A couple of years ago I had two operations that began with me being wheeled into an OR. The anethesiest asked me to count backwards from ten but I passed out at five. I woke up some time later in a different room feeling no pain. If it was to be an execution instead of a bit of tissue removal...

Law Enforcement - The Good, The Bad, The Ugly.....

David Milgaard and Guy Paul Moran come to mind here. Both were framed to cover up police incompetence. There are more. Were any police officials charged? Did compensation come from the perpetrators or the tax payers? Cynical font.
