“What bike do you ride”?
“Night Rod Special”
<puzzled look>
“Vrod”
<awkward silence>
“It’s a Harley”
“Oh ok”
Just say Harley, there’s no need to say the chassis moniker. If they want to know more they’ll ask.
I have the matte black Bell Star, so the Bell logo is more subdued, but almost every Arai and Shoei I’ve seen also have big giant logos on the side as well. Never really bothered me, especially since they are considered premium brands.
I test rode the XR1200. Loved the look but found it underwhelming for a few reasons. It was a $15K, 600 lb semi-sportbike with 80 HP. Who was this marketed to? The old guard hated it, and younger riders found better alternatives.
I like that. Neutron S Blade would look badass on my vrod.
Just get the Denali D2's. You can always sell them later if you give up riding, they at least have a good rep over the no-name LED's.
My last 3 helmets have been Bell Stars. Easy to remove padding, visor system works well and large selection of tints. I have the photo-chromatic visor now, so no longer need to swap. Something else to consider.
Easy to swap to another tank, 10 minutes tops.
Local guy has a '48 with a 1200 Custom tank for longer trips. That one holds 17L vs 8L on the '48. Iron, IIRC is around 12-13L.
I remember putting plates on my bicycle in the mid '70's. It was $5.00. which was quite a bit of money then. I also remember my Scottish dad chewing out the poor clerk who was processing it because of said cost.
