How does financing and different interest rates work at bike dealerships?

They can basically do as they wish. There is the lender criteria and what stock the dealer is trying to move. If the machine is in demand, they do not have to offer the incentive. Or they may have a discount for service or merchandise at time of purchase but, the financing isn’t part of the...

    Darksiders beware...

Side note regarding waivers. Even with the hours billed to write one, most times they are not worth the toilet paper they are written on from a legal stand point. It’s just a speed bump and rarely protects from any liability.

Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

Quick check in. 431 kms driven. 281 of those electric. 3.3 L/100 km consumption. Those 281 kms cost me less than $11 in electricity as I have a full charge of 60 kms of battery range. Electricity cost is including kWh of 11 cents and distribution and taxes bringing the cost to 18 cents...

What size of bike for 2 up ?

Never really gave it that much thought. Op grabbed a 650 Zookie to bop around on and now the wife enjoys it and thinking of a second bike that manages 2up without breaking the bank. There are a bunch of Asian twins out there for a couple of grand or so. Just do some research on the model...

Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

Just want to thank the frequent contributors and advocates for EVs in this thread. It was very helpful and must say things are improving but, in the end decided to go with a plug in hybrid. PHEV allow for short EV trips as well as decent fuel economy when the battery only range is depleted...

What size of bike for 2 up ?

It’s really the bike as much as the engine size. I don’t think there is anything in the cruiser models at 600 cc. I’m sure someone can post a few to prove me wrong. For the most part, the Viragos and the Volusia with the 1100 engine will be fine. I made a couple of 1200 Sportsters manage...

What size of bike for 2 up ?

FIL has the 800 Volusia and ridden it many times with the squeeze on country roads and it’s quite enjoyable. On a 400 series highway, it’s not enjoyable after a little bit. Before you know it, there will be windshields and back rests and saddlebags etc. 😉

    Happy Canada Day 2025

Happy Canada Day folks! Appropriate color coordination from OPs pics too! I’ve adopted a similar patriotic theme with my toys as well as our new grocery getter. Those pics will follow in a day or two.

Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

We pulled the trigger on a Ford Escape PHEV and pick up Wednesday. 60 km battery range and the hybrid system operates efficiently even when battery depleted. The equivalent RAV4 prime is far superior as well as some others. But, it delivers on what we want and needed at an attractive price...

Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

My profile pic of Canadian flag is a signal to have elbows up and support Canada. As much as I want to support Canadian assembled vehicles, asking a Honda dealer to order a middle trim hybrid CRV is welcomed with we have this higher trim model in stock for only a few dollars more a month and...

Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

Test drove a Sportage PHEV top trim. Some of the gizmos are impressive with camera displaying blind spot and eagle eye 360 view when backing up. I know it’s not exclusive to EV. Cooled seats was also impressive on a day like today. Overall, nice machine for a Korean marquee. Best finance...

    Honda nostalgia

I’m very nostalgic towards several bikes I’ve never owned. Their sound, their look etc. Gary’s CB1 is one. lol. Hawk GT is another from the same era. The Magna and Sabre V65 prior to that. Suzuki Katana 1100 from back in the day and of course the GSXR. Kawi’s from the 80s and early 90s...

    Career change

Is there a chamber of commerce near you? They often have regular meetings, lunch and learn to meet with business owners, leaders etc. Just being curious is a valued asset and developing a network with local business contacts and community leaders can bear opportunities. At least get a...

    Who knew this

I don’t like to compare one area of importance over another. Men’s mental health and overall health doesn’t get the same exposure as Pride month for sure. To address men’s mental health, one of the main reasons I ride a motorcycle. In general men like things. We can spend hours looking at...

Country Living (septic, well water, etc.) ... who's done it?

A nice website to provide some listing details you won’t find on realtor.ca is HouseSigma It’s not 100% but, often has previous listings for the same residence to show the evolution of the property. If it was a flip, you can see purchase price, pics at time of listing and current listing. As...

    Blackbridge Harley

If it was easy, everyone would do it. Running a business isn’t for the faint of heart. I’m sure when the franchise agreement was up for renewal, the financials were reviewed and there was a discussion between the owners and corporate. I’m sure there was some dumb spending on the owners part...

Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

Currently looking into PHEV hybrid SUV. Wife doesn’t like low belt line of a car so, it will likely be SUV. Toyota pricing and availability makes it a low contender even considering high resell and reliability reputation. Ford has 0% financing promo and looking into the Outlander. Not...

What is your Budget for a Bargain Find?

Took The Red Barron out for a scoot along the parkway before taking a European Vacation. Really enjoy smooth, quiet and powerful. Handles great when in motion. Maneuvers around the garage and parking lot takes some patience and planning. Looking forward to putting longer rides in this...

    Westport Loop second attempt

I was thinking for those out of towers from the GTA or myself (Niagara) that make the trip. 😉 Even the locals don’t mind a stop in for a cold one and some music at The Cove. Food is pretty good too!
