    Where to get a puppy?

Not all dog parks are created equal for sure. The attendees can be a pain as well as their pups. Some are well designed and have good folks that come out. Not sure about the GTA locations specifically which are good or bad. Edit. You do want to have your pup socialize with other pups and...

    Where to get a puppy?

For dog training schools, look for local feedback from previous customers. See if you can come out and view a class in session without your pup. You may not be allowed to be in the space of the class but, might have a way to observe. Do they control the group well and provide good guidance...

    Where to get a puppy?

Teething can be an issue for biting. Here is a YouTube clip from a decent trainer. Dog training schools are hit or miss. The good thing about them is controlled socializing as well as the training. Get the kids involved so everyone keeps things consistent with corrections and rewards...

    Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride

This year was my first and was fun on the R80. No tweed or suit worn by this fella. If any of the GTA riders find their way down towards the Niagara region for the next one, the parkway is a nice ride and the end point at Reif Winery was quite nice. While I don’t support drinking and...

Post up your liquor/spirit talk ?

“The bench” wine is actually preferred by many “locals” of the Niagara region. Specifically this Cab Franc is quite nice. $40 nice? Debatable. But, we do pick it up from time to time and enjoy it.

    Coffee

Bookmarked for the future. I’m not ready for advanced information related to coffee. For me, it’s just not registering at the moment. Water temps and the like. I’m still at caveman, road side camping, keep it simple stupid. But, I have to say my coffee game has improved since I...

    John Lennon

Hit my mom pretty hard. I knew the music but, didn’t really understand why it affected so many people. After Elvis, this was a biggie for a lot of folks.

    Where to get a puppy?

We prefer a collar over harness. As for food, we do Costco puppy food mixed with Costco adult food mixed to about 50/50. The rescue place had them all on adult food from Costco. I believe it’s chicken and rice blend.

    Coffee

So, I got myself a bean grinder and have to say even with the cheapo beans I’ve had sitting in the house for 6 months, has been a game changer. A nice even grind and simply put them in the perk and let it do its thing. Voila! Miles better than the Kirkland tin can medium roast. Using...

    Where to get a puppy?

Some dogs like to do their business in the same area. Our yard is big and not fenced. So, we’ve taught our pup to do its business in the area we want. Now, it will head towards that area when we let it out. Keep attentive and it will demonstrate behaviours indicating it needs to do its...

    Where to get a puppy?

Agree! Also get them used to nail clippers etc. Winters are a challenge as walking doesn’t wear down their nails and can grow fast. Establishing the need to touch their paws and clip their nails as a puppy will reward you through the life of the pup. Even if you opt to let a groomer do it...

    Donating to charities

I place an emphasis on local community support/charity. Since the Niagara region is my backyard, we do what we can. There are daily reminders of the small things to be done as well as the annual fund raisers etc. Not a charity but, something I try to regularly do is donate blood. I’m O neg...

Is It Time to Leave the Sport? Honestly… I’m Starting to Wonder.

Best activity play ground in Canada is the Okanagan Valley. Very healthy living/lifestyle out there. Water, mountains, wine, trails, roads, hike, bike, Powersports etc. Salmon Arm (hiking) and Osoyoos (wineries) are a couple of spots we enjoy. For vacations, we make Kelowna our base and...

It’s kind of a sport in this house to donate items and then purchase them back. 😆

    Coffee

I knew the extremes would bring a chuckle. The boss reminded me after the Amazon purchase of a proper bean grinder that the French press was donated to the thrift shop and need to pick up another one. 😆

    Coffee

This thread did not disappoint. Thank you all for your contributions! I have a French press and I tried to grind some beans in a magic bullet blender and wasn’t impressed. I did a quick Amazon purchase of a coffee grinder and going to give it another shot. If not, the dance between...

    Coffee

I’ve got a good old Keurig that does the job but, I use that for my one and done. Maybe two. But, working from home, sometimes I need more than 2 which means making a pot. Some folks, it’s a science and it does show. I guess I’m lazy but, want the short cut to a better cuppa without the work...

    Coffee

What is your home brew routine? I’m far from a connoisseur. Friends do the French press and grab some beans from whatever place but, I’m still intimidated in that process to develop a consistent blend I can enjoy. So, I end up with my Kirkland tin and black and decker drip machine. I’m...

    Comm's in helmets

I have a basic sena which is fantastic for communication but, music quality isn’t that great. Take a call and no one is aware I’m riding. Haven’t tried a higher grade system yet. Welcome suggestions for a system that can perform both.
