Law Enforcement - The Good, The Bad, The Ugly.....

It depends on the circumstances. If it was an unforeseen procedural issue then nothing should happen. That sort of thing comes up all the time. If they screwed up then a notation should be made in their files, that will affect future promotions and raises. If they "spiked the ball" for a buddy...

There's also the possibility that "paid by the load" was in play, which makes drivers take shortcuts on safety.

    Speed camera update (Sept.11)

There's a reason why several Brampton driving schools have been decertified, over the last 10 years or so.

    Speed camera update (Sept.11)

It's not all about profit. Some of it is about governance by sound bite. Gotta seem like you're doing something for the electorate. Ridiculously low speed limits. Photo RADAR. Speed bumps. Advanced walk signals. If it's all about pedestrian safety then how about enforcing the jaywalking laws...

It never really is, however, I have the evidence of my own eyes.

"If they wanted to overtake The Capitol, they could've. They didn't." Um yeah, they did. This guy was better as a comedian than he is as an Ivermectin promoting nutbar. It feels like he's just courting controversy, to me, as he was also on "The Young Turks" far Left-Wing channel, a few years...

    Speed camera update (Sept.11)

And Brown is a lying sack, because he's already done that by extending school zones. For example Bramaela Road, past Bramalea Secondary School, used to be a uniform 60 Kmh. It currently has signs stating "Speed Camera Coming Soon" and, when that sign went up, the limit past the school was...

    Speed camera update (Sept.11)

Perhaps if the various cities had put speed cameras just in appropriate areas, instead of plastering them all over as Patric Brown has done, there wouldn't have been the uproar that made Ford push fro their banning? Vaughan voluntarily discontinues their more limited use in September.

American cops call it "compliance strikes."

Remember the early days of HTA172? No label is necessary.

I think that's 3 more than the amount they originally announced were going to be installed, back in late Spring.

    TV shows currently watching

I've been watching the anime "One Punch Man" now that I finally found a version that was dubbed, on Disney+. There are very few things that I'll make the effort to watch with subtitles. It's a sort of ironic take on superheroes and good stuff, overall.

The only real surprise in this video is that there aren't more Swift trucks involved.

Law Enforcement - The Good, The Bad, The Ugly.....

This is what the incredibly poorly named "Defund the Police" movement is about. It's not about just taking money away from police departments, but rather diverting funds that are currently being used so that they can do jobs that they are neither equipped nor trained for, and giving those tasks...

From what I recall OnRoute locations are Provincially owned and the residents contract to run it for them. Mess up the signs and that's damage to government property.

Law Enforcement - The Good, The Bad, The Ugly.....

We just had someone else, who was on bail but had been threatening his victim, kill her a couple of miles from my house at the place where I get my groceries, it would seem. People who can't keep to conditions need to be locked up and we need to fund the system to the extent that it can do so...

    Speed camera update (Sept.11)

The way that things are going I don't think it will be long before the camera proponents have reduced the school zone limits to 25Kmh (15MPH), like in many US jurisdictions, and cameraed the hell out of them.

    Speed camera update (Sept.11)

All that the Opposition Parties can do is delay, with debate. With a Majority it's a done deal. Then come the court battles with Brown and Chow.

    Speed camera update (Sept.11)

I'm now at the point that I ignore Waze's alerts about traffic cameras. With how often they get called out and how speed limits are being monkeyed with, I'm pretty much assuming they're everywhere now. They got me once. Could have got me twice if I wasn't normally a conscientious driver on...

    Speed camera update (Sept.11)

"And you will see our presence in locations where speed cameras were targeted by vandals." Interesting. So they have enough police to watch for the people who are cutting down the speed cameras, but not enough to do active enforcement in those same areas? Sounds like they could get rid of the...
