Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

Three boosters should fit in almost everything. Three boosters plus three adults is a much harder requirement. Ioniq9 works (pricey but my buddy likes his). I'm not sure how many other BEV's can do that. 3+2 is easy. 3+3 narrows you down to a vehicle or two as most (all?) have front buckets...

Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

I was entertained that fsd disengaged when the vehicle had rotated 90 degrees. Thanks a #%@^!^%@ing lot. You've crashed me and now throw in the towel. The computer has access to things I don't (like individual wheel brakes) that are useful when things go to hell. I suspect this is part of tesla...

    Metal Roofing?

My shingles were ~11,000 lbs when new. On a slightly related note, a roof collapsed on a house in Oro. The seniors inside were unharmed but apparently may not have been entirely aware that it happened. Sad situation. House is farked. Window/door openings have racked. Probably a tear-down...

What did you do in your garage today..?

Shed is a premium option. Out of the wind and you can normally have some heat. When I first changed tires and brakes in a garage instead of sitting in a snowy driveway, I was very happy.

Supercharger is on par to higher than cost of gas. SSB's won't change that. If that is the expected use case, the economics are horrendous and adoption will be too. Charge at home (or work) is almost a necessity for EV math to possibly make sense.

    Metal Roofing?

I would still strip the existing asphalt. Low cost relative to entire project. Shows you didn't cheap out. Allows you to inspect the deck prior installing a lifetime roof. Steel should be more resistant to hail when installed on wood directly (my guess, I haven't looked for documentation on...

    Metal Roofing?

12 for standing seam is a no-brainer. That is shockingly low.

    Metal Roofing?

If you are worried, I would just build scaffolding in your driveway. That gives you access, staging, fall platform, etc. Working below your feet sucks. If you are leaving up an anchor, put in on the least visible side. I would definitely go with a maxx vent (pagoda style) instead of mushrooms.

    Metal Roofing?

When I had shingles replaced about 5 years ago, prices were 20-45K (it's an annoying roof). Rubber would have been over 100K. I didn't get official quotes on steel as I like the look of asphalt on this house and wasn't in a good position to pay well over 50K for a roof. A friend with a more...

Put a ski jump at the lower edge? Tosses avalanche past gutters but water should still pour into gutter.

    Metal Roofing?

Rubber I have seen looks like clay or concrete tile. Great solution for hail prone areas. About 3-4x asphalt cost when I looked.

    Metal Roofing?

Another caveat, if you go with a metal roof with exposed fasteners, fine print says that while the roof lasts decades, the fasteners must be replaced every decade or so as the seals on them fail. Guess how much it costs to replace all of the fasteners on an existing roof? Not a whole lot less...

Enough of COVID...what are you doing to the house?

No house is running C02 sensors. CO sensors need replaced every seven years. There is some disagreement as to whether that is from manufacture or install but it wouldn't be a hard fail, just sensitivity dropping so seven after install seems reasonable to me.

Got kids who want to try Roadracing?

I thought the one near the airport used to have minibike nights. I could be wrong. Most of the newer tracks are electric carts and not designed to deal with exhaust.

Law Enforcement - The Good, The Bad, The Ugly.....

SIU same same but different. Manager said after a police shooting "he was a black drug dealer who had it coming". In labour hearing to discuss case, SIU witness fails to show up dragging the case out further. Keep the cloak of silence over the whole thing. Never let light shine on truth. The...

    Boat Rentals

They don't do that now? Again, for those that bothered registering before, this changes nothing. For those that didn't bother registering before, they still risked a ticket for not doing it and again, this changes nothing.

Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

Most existing BEV's have part of the battery pack locked out already (user only gets something like 15-90% of actual pack capacity). Level 3 charging does more damage than full charge/discharge. While it is ideal to stay within the 15-85% range, I would have no issue going 100% to 0 whenever the...

Law Enforcement - The Good, The Bad, The Ugly.....

Almost 100% fault goes to police. They created the situation, they escalated the situation. The driver gets a small amount of blame as if she stopped, she probably (but not certainly) would not have been shot. LE just has to say they feared for their safety to get a free pass. Until that phrase...
