    BOC Hits 5%

You're not wrong; being frugal early pays dividends later on. Where your argument falls apart on the barrier to ownership is the $$ needed upfront to get into the market. A 10% jump in the 90s meant you needed an extra 10k .. which you could do with a part time job and maintaining a frugal...

    BOC Hits 5%

That $229,635 house took $45K down to buy - land transfer costs were $10K and so were realtor costs for the seller. The average couple earning a merger $57,800 back then could save that inside of 2-3 years with their first jobs out of University. Today you need a minimum of $200,000 for the...

    BOC Hits 5%

The likely hood of that happening is certainly (but not absolutely) zero. The fact that housing has held up so well in the face of the fastest rate increase cycle ever is astonishing. I think a lot of people are severely underestimating how much wealth is in Toronto. For what it's worth...

    BOC Hits 5%

Median income in Toronto in 1990 was 55k. It's $78,378 in 2022. 1990 payment was ~48% of total pre-tax income. Today for a similar home it's well over 100% and you would need a double income to afford that home PLUS (and this is key) $250K saved up. Just for some perspective.

    Flying Squirrel aka OTOMOTO (update)

Let’s face it, Millennials aren’t keeping the place in business. Besides enthusiasm for motorcycles is ageless. The Gixxer-bro crowd probably wouldn’t like it very much; but there’s Timmy’s at L&L for that nearby. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Flying Squirrel aka OTOMOTO (update)

Passed by a few times on a sunny day, patio space is packed with cool bikes. Love the concept and the crowd. Like the belfountain coffee shop in the big city.

Preferential Treatment In All Its Glory

Despicable but considering this is the 3rd or 4th car he's totaled, I'm not surprised; His family are 1%-ers. He was never going to have any repercussions besides a slap on the wrist. Even if he kills someone, they will throw $10M at the family like it's nothing.

    H-D has a new boss

I know plenty about branding, thanks. And I can spot a failing brand strategy from a mile away. So I’ll stick with what I know. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    H-D has a new boss

This is exactly what I'm getting at when I said HD needs to go back to their "roots". HD's success as a brand is contributed in part by them being perceived as non-conformist. When they start catering to the latest mainstream whims with bikes like this Streetfighter and the Electric series...

    H-D has a new boss

Ah, I misread that part - thought that related only to PUMA. Looks like more of the same at Harley Davidson. Its too bad; as I get older the idea of a Harley Davidson becomes more appealing. Then I glance at their new bikes and see 20 year old technology and wonder how they move these turds.

    H-D has a new boss

Count me in the camp that thinks this is a good move. He's been on the Board of Directors at Harley Davidson since 2007 - he clearly knows what is currently happening with the brand's misdirection. Their current product lineup is not reflective of the brand; they need to get back to their roots.

    Daily sports car?

Shoot, I didn't see that on this particular car. NEVER buy a rebuilt title. There are plenty of others between $30k-$40K on autotrader. Clean cars, reasonably low mileage based on 8K-12K a year in most cases.
