Thinking of trading my V-Strom 650XT for the new Himalayan 450 – need your thoughts!

As Lightcycle suggested, be honest with yourself on how offroadie you're going to realistically get as there's tradeoffs. The 650XT is fairly chunky but with decent tires it'll easily do any forest service roads and doubletrack trails. Once you start venturing offroad you'll quickly realize if...

    Cheapskates Corner

I found Olympic coverage on Prime was pretty good if you have that.

    Normal car recommendation….

100k on our 2020 Ody and 400k on the FIL's 2016 Ody. No problems with either.

    EICMA 2025

Honda actually showing up with some exciting stuff finally. Making this V3T a 900 instead of say a 600 is pretty big, as is making a sport-tourer with some healthy HP numbers instead of their usual 100hp numbers.

    Anyone else becoming more reclusive?

You start caring less about what people think the older you get and in doing so I stopped spending time with many people who were negative, narcissistic, or just generally sucked the life out of the room. In doing that my circle got smaller and I was more reclusive. I've never had much social...

    Knowing Better

I run 91 oct non-eth marine fuel in all my small engines. Anything 4cyl I top the tanks and park (will run carb dry if there's a fuel shutoff like genny and snowblower). Anything 2cyl I empty the tank and run dry. Stopped using stabil a few years back. Everything gets stored indoors. After a...

Where are the Toronto Jays fans

As someone not experienced with the commute you could also easily follow the swarm of people headed towards the trains as well. I was at a Saturday Taylor Swift concert and the ACC was let out around the same time and we were out of the Dome in well under 10 and we just followed the flood of...

    Daily sports car?

C6 is certainly the mostly visceral and engaging of them. We enjoyed our C6 Grand Sport. An upgrade to the seats/steering wheel/stereo really goes a long way in improving creature comforts without taking away from the engaging driving experience of the car. I like the C7 as well and behind the...

Where are the Toronto Jays fans

I was really hoping for another Joe Carter moment last night in the bottom of the 9th :(

    Knowing Better

Geez I haven't even put the lawnmower away yet (will do one more cut soon). Plenty of riding time still available. I'll call it a season when the brine goes down.

Why Is Motorcycle Oil So Expensive?

Given past history I wouldn't waste a call to them. I called them last year about trying to price match a pair of $750 boots and it was a 20min waste of time just to hear them say no. Saved $150 and bought elsewhere. Actually they lost two sales of those boots as my riding buddy liked mine so...

Why Is Motorcycle Oil So Expensive?

The 15w50 that I need isn't on sale though sadly. Same price as Amazon but that is what I bought. I'd run a non-bike oil but finding something in a 10w50 or 15w50 that I need for the SAR isn't common. I run T6 in the 300.

Where are the Toronto Jays fans

No more selling tickets behind home plate to Marlin-red guy and his red-sunglasses buddy. Everyone standing and they’re sitting staring at their phones the entire game. Sell those tickets to real Jays fans! (Or better yet, buy them and donate them to a diehard elderly fan that can’t afford to go).

Why Is Motorcycle Oil So Expensive?

First off, I’m not cheap AF but I’d rather spend my money on cool stuff. What really grinds my gears is that I pay $34 for 5L of top-quality Pennzoil Platinum for my cars/truck but it costs me ~$87 at least for 4L of synthetic motorcycle oil. So why the 200% surcharge for MC oil? Surely getting...

Where are the Toronto Jays fans

We try to hit a game a year and I always watch Jays highlights throughout the year. Watched most of each post-season game (until like 10ish because I'm old). I still remember watching the 1992-93 games live and will keep enjoying this series.

I've been enjoying the Wilson Forest Lands videos.

Enough of COVID...what are you doing to the house?

That reminds me, we've been meaning to get a freezer but never got around to it. Will look around for a sale. I've been considering upgrading my 2yr old Stihl MS250CBE chainsaw for no other reason than I saw a bigger one for sale NIB. Maybe hunting for a freezer will deter me from watching more...

    2025 Day Trips!

I didn’t head out until almost noon as it was just 2c when I got up so just a 400km ride around Havelock/Coe Hill/Bancroft/Deloro areas. 60/40 split of dirt/road. Such a great time to be out as temps were nice in the afternoon, no bugs, and trails empty.

    Considering a second bike

I can deal with the continued adds for Monster 1200's I'm seeing now after searching Kijiji/Marketplace to see current prices. Weirdly though, today I had a missed call from a 408 number and the voicemail was a lady inquiring if I was satisfied with my recent customer service experience for my...

    Considering a second bike

Ditching the trellis in an attempt to lower weight and choosing function over form. Now it looks like every other naked bike in it's category.
