    Who's Still Riding? - 2025/2026 Edition

Still out riding as of Monday (although the next couple weeks aren’t looking good for weather).

Share your fondest memory of motorcycling

On the CR500 it took me a few months and many many kicks (and bruises) to realize that unless you kicked it just past TDC it wasn't going to start.

Share your fondest memory of motorcycling

Street - (Tie) #1 - My first multi-day ride and it was a 9-day ride from Ontario to Deals Gap and back on a GSXR1000. Rode every day spending a few days down there as well as taking the long ways both to and from. Learned so much and had such a great time making memories with friends. #2 - A 10...

    2025 Day Trips!

Roads were pretty clean however the bridges were often wet so a bit of due care was required. Seasonal roads were muddier than expected but I rode most of the Ganny doubletrack and had a great day overall. Few dirtbikes in the Ganny and a lone HD decker on the roads were the extent of riders on...

Recent movies you saw - recommend or no

Great movie. I gave Mad Max: Furiosa a watch. There's too much "dumb" in it, from things vehicles climb (and looking really fake doing it) to stupid vehicles like the 3-motorcycle chariot, and the mini 2T motor in a fake arm with no driveline, etc. Too much visual artsy stuff in the first half...

[Amazon.ca] 23$ Alpine MotoSafe Race - Motorcycle Ear Plugs for Wind Noise Reduction - 20%off

The Earpeace ones are also 20% off. I see they make a Pro version now so I may try those out as I've had my regular Earpeace set for quite a few years now (excellent btw).

Kawasaki Is About to Ruin 2-Strokes Forever

My good friend has a 22 or 23 300XC that he converted to premix as well. Also has a fancy expensive aftermarket ECU and high comp head and he prefers mine as do I. Mine tries to kill me on most rides and I like that.

Kawasaki Is About to Ruin 2-Strokes Forever

2T riders will ridicule estart until they actually own a 2T with it and then they won't want to live without it. Same can be said for a counterbalanced engine. Many people avoid the Yamaha for this reason. I do agree with sticking to carbs and not adding additional sensors. My light, carbed...

What did you do in your garage today..?

Two cars washed, put the snows on one, 6 big loads of brush cleared from the forest around the house, and treated myself to a new saw.

What did you do in your garage today..?

Well to know 3 batts off your bench, I’ve never found my sleds batteries to drain during the parked warmer Summer months so I stopped taking them out. Conversely I’d also not leave the power washer anywhere that drops below freezing either.

    Pickup Trucks

The F150 FB page has lots of good susp and Forscan info. If there's a Mav one it'll likely be the same. I personally wouldn't lower it and instead would look into some different shocks to change the ride.

    Cheapskates Corner

I haven't seen the permanent ones yet. I tried leaving ours up as they're not terribly noticeable but the sun yellows them quickly.

Thinking of trading my V-Strom 650XT for the new Himalayan 450 – need your thoughts!

Yes the updated 26 Ten7 has cruise (may only be on the World Raid model but you'd have to check).

    Cheapskates Corner

Today was Christmas lights day. My most hated day of the year only because I hate going up high on ladders and going up on our steep pitched roof. Every year after I get them up I swear I’ll pay someone to do it next year but……….cheapskate. Convinced myself that if I can do them myself again...

    Pickup Trucks

Ordered my F150 Lariat Jan '24 and have zero regrets. My BIL liked it so much he ordered the identical truck May '25 and also loves his.

    Daily sports car?

They had to eff up the rear end to accommodate the golfers. If it wasn't for the 2-bag minimum requirement it would look a lot better. It's also a car that looks much better in person and the rear end doesn't look nearly as bad in a walk-around. I've always loved the 72 Vert in the Rush Hour...

    Anyone sold a cemetery plot?

Bit of a gamble. If the market goes down you could be 6ft under real quick (well someone had to make the joke).

    Donating to charities

We do the same although I bypass the charity itself in favour of directly donating (retirement homes, hospitals, etc). I just call or attend and ask what they're in need of. Many retirement homes just have basics and some residents have families far away that rarely visit and a nice blanket...
