I'm surprised this has been up for a week.

I started playing garage Tetris to get our dirt bikes out of the back. Normally, this is such a pain that I cannot even consider keeping my road bike in the container.
The beauty part of the Skylift is I can easily go from having my road bike completely blocking the back:
To this, within a...
Thanks - yeah, probably too far. Hang on to any mechanic you trust.
After years of getting screwed over by HVAC guys I found one I can trust who isn't always trying to sell me a new furnace or AC. So when he *does* tell me I need a replacement, I trust him.
I was told that if a guy from one...
Yeah, I just meant that up there, there are lots of places to steal ramps and it doesn't seem to happen too much.
I'm not sure where you're thinking of staging your rides, but depending on the weekend, you could park your truck at my place and go from there. I'm not too far from Casinorama...
Theft is a potential problem, but I can tell you that most every pickup at the head of dirt bike trails has a ramp sitting in the bed. But it would suck finding yourself without a ramp in a spot where you need one.
I understand. When I had an MDX it seemed like every time I went in, there was something that cost between $500-1000. My theory was that amount was just low enough to not make it worth my while to get a second opinion. I don't get the same feeling with my Lexus dealer.
Gyro Mazda - every...
Are there any little hills nearby - say, like the ones you might sometimes at the perimeter of a parking lot? With the right one you could load your bike on the truck without a ramp at all.
What he said. Even tall guys on the MS forums agree - it's a tall and top-heavy bike that rides (and pushes) heavier than its weight would indicate, worse with a full tank. My VF500F and my prior naked bike were indeed not too far off in weight, but they are much lower - both CoG and bar...
@sburns : I should have posted a follow-up. Apologies - that's bad form.
I'm pretty sure I called the guy @Lightcycle recommended, and that they told me they did not do Lexus. @TK4's guy was in Aurora which was too far for me.
I ended up taking it to a place called EuroMechanic - McDermott...
I’ve had it for a year and if I had to guess have probably put around 5K on it (odometer on dash had gone out of sync with the ECU, apparently common and just requires a reset).
I LOVE riding it. It’s just starting to feel more and more unwieldy for where I keep it. No garage, a gravel...
i hear you. Besides the problem of selling this one in its current state is the problem that there is no other bike that I really pine for. Not that ticks off the box of not being another project for me, anyways. Excepting the ones I know aren’t really a good fit - like a Panigale V2.
I have, while trying to avoid stripping the threads on the other bolt. Didn’t make a difference yet. Someone else made a suggestion to use a clamp to accomplish the same thing. That’s something I can try next weekend.
Correct! 2014 MS GT. I love everything about the bike except its size. Unlike @PacoT I have only had one real problem with it that wasn’t created by its owner - the odometer on the display has gone out of sync - apparently common and just requires a reset. Other than that and the seized fork...
I told my wife that if I could get my bike up on the lift this weekend - I'd count it as a success. So I'm happy on that count.
But in the large, you're not wrong. I love this bike to death - every time I look at it, I fall in love again. But for some reason I feel snake-bit by it, and I...
