Can the internet teach you about how to tighten a bolt and apply the proper torque? Maybe. But the shop manual will show you the correct torque and the proper sequence. With every dirt bike I have owned the owner’s manual does show in detail how to do simple maintenance items. With each...
Depends how far you want to travel. For MX go south to http://www.floridatracksandtrails.com/tracks/ for trail riding Hatfield and McCoy’s trail system. If you want to have some real fun go to Moab Utah.
The only thing I question is you bought the ultimate hooligan bike, a supermoto. Next you’re going to tell me you ride slow, well below the speed limit and don’t carve through traffic. Sure, if that was the case you be riding a 1978 CB250, but you don’t you ride a hooligan bike which means you...
WR250R is not for you as it does not meet your requirements of “gas-and-go”. It’s based on a detuned YZ250 motocross bike with lights and electric start. With the WR you will need to change the oil at least twice a year (per the manual) and the air filter will need to be cleaned and re-oiled...
If your plan is to do mostly off road, ATV tracks and some single track you’re going to end up selling which every bike you bought and getting a proper “woods” bike. The bikes you have listed do not have the suspension travel, power and they are heavy. Once you pick up speed (as your skills...
My opinion of boots is to spend the money and get the best pair you can get. Why? When you fall over (and you will) and 300 lbs. of bike has trapped your foot you want a boot that won’t be crushed. Likewise, when you hit the tree stump that is hidden by undergrowth you want a boot that can...
I live downtown, like what others have said above, too difficult to get out and go for a fun and great ride. So, I sold my street bike, bought a KTM and spend the weekends in the Ganaraska Forest rip roaring and getting covered in mud. Quality riding and the best part if you want you can do...

See press release from AMA about ethanol in gas.

What gas should we use? Which gas does not have ethanol in it?
How much for the bike - unless its a steller deal you may be better off with a new one. As well - has the top end been rebuilt? If it needs it the cost is around 1400 - 2000. Factor this into the deal. Back brake - get the same problem on mind. I bleed it from time to time.
Wow, has this thread taken a turn from tank slapper to poor safety check. Let's get back to tank slapper - tank slapper is caused by the rake/trail of the bike. Talk to some track day guys and they will tell you to quicken the steering on your bike loosen the triple clamps and rase the forks...
