What did you do in your garage today..?

Tractor is inside. There is space so the blower could be inside but it isn't. Not my circus, not my monkeys. That blower is a conventional open auger (twin auger IIRC) that blows while you are in reverse. The ones on the tractors around me that clear driveways are more like a lawnmower deck...

What did you do in your garage today..?

Honestly, I've never driven this particular tractor. They sold the one they had when I was a kid and picked up this one when a neighbour died a few years ago. I have no idea if it has a diff lock. It has to have split brakes so you could do it manually if you had to. My brother can drive a...

What did you do in your garage today..?

My mom has a tractor at her house. It has chains on it and they have a blower. I thought my brother had things under control but I guess not. I find out yesterday that the blower is 100' from the tractor and buried in snow and apparently the tractor is useless in the snow as it just spins. I...

At least you still have the small one. That's better than a shovel.

What did you do in your garage today..?

2T snowblower? Carbs? I've never seen a snowblower with more than one. Do you have a one stage or two stage? Do you have some frankenblower with a bike or sled engine on it? I used to pick up old toro snowthrowers for free (or close to it), bring them back to life, use them for a few years and...

    Coffee

Rockets are pretty. They use more counter space than I want to give up though. In my head is the rough design for an espresso machine. Footprint similar to a Silvia (smaller if I can do it), 120V, 15A. Single 1L boiler with a preheater for water headed to the boiler. That should have water...

Anyone else wearing a smart watch for fall detection?

Yes. There are a few expensive ones that are fully functional with a sim built in but the vast majority are bluetooth to the phone and the phone app does all of the communication/sending messages to the watch.

What did you do in your garage today..?

It's been a rough year for shear pins in the snowblower. Four down already and I am normally at one or less per year. A few were lost to things left on the ground before it snowed. One was lost to ice chunks as I was trying to beat the bank bank on the left side of the driveway. They're like...

The answer is almost always some combination of booze and "adult activities".

Law Enforcement - The Good, The Bad, The Ugly.....

Another on the job thief suspended with pay. Psa needs to change. They have to have video of this dirtbag accepting the goods and failing to log them. Employment consequences need to happen next week not in two years...

A lot of commercial vehicles are running dashcams now. It's cheap insurance against fraud and good for keeping tabs on driver behaviour. I won't be surprised it the cops already have some video but are hoping for more. Especially in the period leading up to the crash. It would be very helpful...

    Anarchy in the Soo

I'm surprised they didn't charge higher. A snowblower easily meets the threshold for more serious charges. Hopefully this gets dropped as a criminal charge and blower guy agrees to get his anger under control. Blowing up someone's life for some snow is excessive imo.

I'm with you. Wax with the built in funnel is my standard. I have had the displeasure of removing some old neoprene gaskets. Fully saturated in poo water. Gross. Wax is a sticky mess but doesn't absorb.

    Phone Scammers

There is an easy solution but CRTC is more interested in protecting the oligopoly while pretending to be an impartial arbiter. Charge the provider for every spam call that gets through. Providers would have the issue solved in a week.
