Thats the problem my friend! 21 and just got my license, the insurance difference is huge! Anyway, I think that I'm gonna buy a ZX6R. Seems to be the only bike with decent insurance cost that will fit me.
I definitely will, just got back from burlington cycle and sat on a 250 and it was ok, sure it was small, but managable. I also sat on the new 400r and that was wayyyy more my size. Felt way more comfortable.
Why is that? To be honest I am a little intimidated with the ZX6R for a first bike, and would much rather go with a 650, but I'm not paying an extra 1k to ride a lesser bike.
What insurance company did you use? I'm using statefarm and I'm pretty sure they are on crack. A ZX6R is $700 dollars cheaper to insure than a Ninja 650, but a primary reason I want the 250 is that it will only cost $90 a month a insure, and since this is my first year riding and I got my M1...
Hey guys,
Relatively new to the forum and because of my newishness and sky high insurance premiums I am pretty sure I have decided to go with a ninja 250.
Anyway, my main concern is that I am too tall for the bike, now I've heard several different opinions on the 250, some say it would be way...
Just based on when you said that TD gives accurate quote info, I decided to check em out and see the rate I got and it was almost 12k!
Risk Specifics:
21 year old male
M1 license in the waiting period to get my M2, (already passed the test over the weekend through the MSF)
Looking at a ZX6R...
No worries man, as long as you learn from your mistake! I'm a new rider (just did the MSF this weekend) and I wiped out while going 45 k because I made a stupid mistake but I'm glad I did cause I learned from it, and now I'm more confident.
Keep up the riding!
Hey everyone,
Just passed my M2 license test with the Motorcycle Safety Course yesterday and found this forum, looking for my first ever bike which I plan on being either a Ninja 650r or a ZX6R, not sure yet, as long as its reliable and fun!
