I have the centre lift from CT (on sale now) and its seconds to get the bike up and doesnt feel unstable. I did the valves the other day with it on the lift and was turning the rear tire by hand with the bike in gear to get to TDC and it still stayed planted.
It is logical to think they are less harmful than cigarettes although nicotine on its own is also a poison so overdose would be a concern.
In reality I don't think there are any studies to prove that conclusively.
I just got mine a few days ago. Love it! I got my liquid at flavourcrafters.biz and they have a section that simulates actual cigarette brands but I haven't tried those yet. I got a pipe tobacco flavor and it's pretty good.
If you're going slow then lean the bike into the turn and your body away from the turn so that you feel balanced.
Also for better control it might help using only two fingers for clutch and brake. Try it out, everyone's different.
