Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.
Anyone else not going to the track? :p
What was it... Timmies on University/Bridge? 6:30 usually?
Buddy of mine sat at a red waiting for a left turn once. It was around 1 or 2 in the morning so unlikely that another car would show up where he was. He waited 20 minutes before just going. Hadn't seen one car the entire time.

I should have been checking the thread this weekend, I might have come out. Instead I went to visit a friend in Brantford (through Ayr/Paris) and out to London Sunday for some Ribfest.
Did a couple trips this weekend and had this happen four or five times, usually in smaller communities. Unnecessary, they had the right of way.. but appreciated.

I'm a noob, taking my time. I just did a 200km ride out and back again to see family this weekend. First time going that far ever. First run was a bit hairy with some wind but managed. Trip back was more relaxed with better conditions. I made sure I knew my route before hand too because I was...
Re: The Official 2011 Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread.
Hopefully this heat isn't so bad tomorrow. Doing a 200km trip in the afternoon.. but at 90-100kph I think I'll be ok.
Agreed. Since I'm still learning when I go out for rides just to ride I mix up city, residential and quieter, more open rural roads on my route. Get practice on everything.
First season and I don't need to take the highways very much so I'm still working on it. The buffeting makes me nervous still but it just makes me pay more attention to my surroundings. I hit the highways in town when I'm out riding for practice though so I can get more comfortable with it.
