I believe statefarm is 4 years with full G licence, to get any motorcycle insurance through them... every company is different though... one company you will see alot is "Intact" insurance, which is who I am insured through currently.

Off topic but, another thing to consider is that even though(supposedly, although I believe it) it only takes 8lb's of pressure to break any bone, another variable is also muscles taking some of the force of an impact, the shin is pretty exposed but most of the other bones have muscles wrapped...
If you can afford it I think you'd really like a duke 390... its 375cc... has upright riding position but very sporty... KTM also makes the RC 390, I bought one this year and I like it alot, it might be abit to sporty though I dunno, riding position is quite aggressive... but duke is pretty...
