If you want a proper modern sports car on the cheap (ish), you can't beat the BRZ/FR-S/86. I bought a BRZ as my winter car, it's stupidly fun, easy to get sideways at pretty much any speed you'd like, but not in a scary code-brown way. Clutch is short and light, shifter is almost Honda-like...
