    Degreaser Recommendation

You replying to me? I don't know where you're buying your WD40, but my 4L can with bonus spray bottle was about the same price as that paint thinner you linked.

    V4R

When did Ducati start offering a warranty on "R" models??? When I bought my 2000 748S, I was also considering a 748R, but was told by Brampton Cycle that there would be no warranty because it was meant for competition. I've ignored all R models since under that assumption.

I should add, I wouldn't use it on my chain or anywhere else where there are rubber seals.

For actual degreasing, WD40 is my go-to.

We Know you Ride, But do you Shoot?

Reminds me of the guy who sold me my first GSX-R750 back in the day. He sold it to finance a GSX-R7/11 build and we kept in touch. It was going to be a great project until he got a call that someone was coming to repossess it due to an unpaid lien that wasn't disclosed. The repo man arrived...

    New Ducati Hypermotard V2

Neither was I at first, but I can live with it now that I've seen this video. This guy gets on my nerves, but it's a great demo of the design of the DSSA that makes wheel changes almost as quick as a SSSA:

Made my running bike not run by a failed carb sync

So you bought this bike with the intent to flip? Not a bad profit for a couple days work.

If you insist on stunt driving/riding, at least don't give the cops any more to humiliate you with

Absolutely. That was the whole point of my post. The police take great pleasure at ridiculing suspects after what is essentially a circumvention of due process. Don't let them add insult to injury by giving them even more reasons to mock you publically.

Did some work on my bike and no start now …

If your starter runs when power is directly connected to it, then you know it’s just the wiring between the battery and starter and the solenoid is a good place to start but also remove and clean your grounds first.

Another thing I thought of - all the cover bolts you removed were put back in the exact same location? Sometimes a longer bolt is needed in one place, but if you put it in another place and it contacts a moving part, that could cause drag or lock it up. Once the cover is on, I'd test again with...

I found this detailed video on how to remove and replace the cover (and other parts). You didn't remove hte flywheel and have to deal with that split gear, did you? If everything is meshed properly and spinning, then I'd say it all comes down to replacing the cover STRAIGHT. The stator is a...

Is that with the spark plugs out? Anyways, too many unknown in your eletrical system. test the starter directly first.

OP, you said you had the starter motor removed at one point and got it to spin, right? We're asking you to do that again, but with the starter motor still mounted to the engine. There is one post/stud on the starter that has a cable attached with a nut. Remove that cable and attach the positive...

Pulling the clutch in disconnects the rear wheel from the motor, you need to leave the clutch out and see if the rear wheel will spin the motor. Since you have a big V-twin, maybe you'll want to be in a slightly higher gear, but any gear that allows the rear wheel to spin the motor wil do.

Unfortunately you will need someone who knows what they're doing to go see it in person. Not your fault for not knowing the terminology, but it makes it almost impossible to diagnose this way. If I were there, I'd pull out both spark plugs and see what the voltage drops to when you press the...

If the bike can't even crank over with a car battery boosting it, then something is wrong. Unless your car battery is also weak, but that would be a bad coincidence. Firstly, the bike battery dropping to 6v is an indication it's either gone bad or you have some engine problem like high...
