What did you do in your garage today..?

I think he's talking about this, not a normal screwdriver. All that I have seen are close to the same size. You can find longer bits but you lose a lot of the torque through a long bit.

How are the head bearings feeling? Weight transfer forward and worn or mal-adjusted head bearings can be unhappy. How is tire pressure? Tires have any strange wear patterns?

    Canada Post - Huge losses

If the union has so many profitable business ideas, they should spin up a business and use their very valuable employees to make bank. Oh wait, the economics only work if there is an unlimited pool of money that can prop up more stupid ideas.

    COVID and the housing market

I agree with most of your points except for the condo prices. At the peak they were about $1400/sq ft and then you have ~$2/sq ft condo fee to further crush your cash flow. That makes a turd 500 sq ft condo $700K (with 10% down, payment is ~$3500/mo (~$2400 to interest) plus ~$1000/mo condo...

The practicality and/or effectiveness isn't on the unions list of concerns. All that matters to the union is high head count, highly paid. That maximizes union revenue.

I think many public sector employees don't realize what the real world is like. Like GM employees, if the golden handcuffs are cut, they rightfully face an ass-kicking in the job market. Based on their education, experience and attitude/entitlement, many will be facing a 50% cut in income (and...

Even teksavvy somewhat locks down their modems. You can't upgrade firmware on them (even with permission, buying/renting a new modem with current firmware is the only option) but otherwise yiu reasonably have control.

If you use a sled it should be pretty safe. Freehanding it would be dodgy. Now that pucks are over $2, buying the precut pads makes sense though.

    Daily sports car?

MINI in caps is the new BMW version. Old ones are small letters. Fitting as the car is half the size and less than half of the weight. I don't drive it in the winter as a crash in the mini against a modern cage is almost certain death.

While I mostly agree, if I had f u money, a winter "beater" of a Sterrato or Dakar would be a lovely thing.

$22K in damage. HV battery, front HV harness, sway bar and more. Tesla picked up the battery under warranty as it had cell imbalance issues so cost to repair was about 5k. https://insideevs.com/news/773371/tesla-fsd-drive-coast-to-coast-damage-repair-battery/

    Canada Post - Huge losses

I'll be shocked if it's that low. There is a reason the mob loved unions. I knew the head of a very small trade union and he was making way more than that. I don't expect most to show up on a salary disclosure though. Total comp will be multiples of the salary if you count the travel, expenses...
