    Rear brake failure

I forgot about ABS pumps. Took something so simple and made it such a pita.

    Daily sports car?

Entirely agree. When I was looking for a toy, I looked at a mint one owner 928 with original paint. It was beautiful. It's not for me though. That can be a garage queen for someone. I'd feel bad getting it covered in stone chips. I want a driver.

New morgans are six figures (starting at $85K USD). I have no idea about wait list. It doesn't really matter as we can't buy new ones here anyway.

Your money has to go somewhere. Like MP's epic thread on bikes with soul (or however he framed it), it is rare that a japanese econo-mobile is not the cheapest per km over the life of the vehicle. Imo, very few of them are fun though. They are soul-sucking reliable transportation. That's not...

    Rear brake failure

If it's air in the system, rapidly pumping a few times should get you brakes. If rapid pumping doesn't help, I strongly suspect master (could be plugged port between reservoir and piston or failed piston seal). The solution for all master problems is just replace though so specific failure mode...

The Bad Riders of Ontario Thread

I think this rider found the most dangerous way to save a little time in traffic. Using the hashed HOV line as a bike lane. https://www.facebook.com/share/p/17NUqJNkWP/

    Rear brake failure

Thinga to check: Is there fluid in the reservoir. Are there any obvious leaks. Do pads have some life left. If you open reservoir, is there a vacuum in reservoir. If you pump brakes five times, do they build pressure and start to work.

Haliburton 118 and whiskey jack lane RIPx2

Looks horrendous. Best wishes to the rider. Bike vs truck. Edit: Not surprising but a tragic update. RIP rider and passenger. https://www.ctvnews.ca/barrie/article/opp-investigating-serious-collision-between-motorcycle-and-tractor-trailer/ "The driver and passenger of the motorcycle, a...

Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

For the economics to work, you need to drive a bunch so the fuel savings offset the increased cost. A friend swapped an f150 for a lightning. Lightning charges off his solar (so charging is free if you look at incremental cost). His monthly gas bill for f150 was $800. His financing payment for...

    COVID and the housing market

Sales are slow around me. One house was listed for 45 days and then cut price by more than 25%. I have no idea if they are trying for the same price from a bidding war or if they have just acknowledged the inevitable and are now priced to clear their mortgage before they default.

100 psi oil pressure is not a badge of honor, it's an indication that relief valve should be adjusted down. Personally, I like the traditional mini shape better than the wolseley, clubbie or moke but to each their own.

    Canada Post - Huge losses

Since CP was losing $10-30M a day under full operation, they are likely losing far more than that now. It's not unreasonable to argue that today they are in a worse financial position than yesterday. It is mostly not cupw's fault but everyone associated with CP needs a major blood-letting. The...

    Canada Post - Huge losses

I wonder how long is required between offers? Like the dutch auction, maybe CP should send CUPW an offer every x days that is worse than the previous offer. CUPW can decide when to sign or ride it right into the ground.

    Canada Post - Huge losses

I know that and you know that but the union is continuing on with insisting that head count must remain constant and salaries must increase. If they can't get the message that they are pointing the gun at their head, let them pull the trigger.

    Canada Post - Huge losses

The rallying cry is a common one. "This is a service not a business and services cost money and should not have to break even". Sounds slightly reasonable on the surface but holy crap is that ever a ridiculous concept when applied in black and white. If the service is grossly oversized/overly...

    Canada Post - Huge losses

1250+tax of aftertax money for the posties would be brutal. That does help illustrate the magnitude of the issue though.

    Canada Post - Huge losses

CP sent a new offer. Similar to the old offer with a side of ass kicking. CUPW is fuming. New severance offers of 18 months. As I expected, the dumpster fire will be huge. Letting CP die would save many billions.

You're at the wear bars anyway. Why did the inside get smoked though? Alignment ok? Anything touching? I expect the outside to be more beat up.

    Damon motorcycles

Afaik, it was a functional electric bike and it spent some time on the track. I wouldn't be at all surprised if range was well below what was published. All of that transformer crap and self-driving they planned on including doomed the entire company from the beginning (and afaik was not on...
