    Speed camera update (Sept.11)

Douggie actually brought forward the bill to kill them. That's step one. Unfortunately, it's a stupid omnibus bill with lots of unrelated issues. I hate those as they are politics at its worst. Makes it easy to take shots at anyone that opposes a single section by pointing to the harms caused if...

    Speed camera update (Sept.11)

With the number of stolen vehicles, I am a little surprised that there aren't more sacrifice plays where the camera gets punted.

Does Toronto actually have a plan?

Holy f. Two trains crashed into each other and operation has been paused. They made it two weeks from start of testing until a crash. Ouch. https://toronto.citynews.ca/2025/10/21/eglinton-crosstown-revenue-service-demonstration-paused/ Edit: I was optimistic that it was two weeks before the...

    Speed camera update (Sept.11)

When the security camera is a potato (and likely cost five or six figures) more expensive potatoes won't solve the crimes. I'm slightly surprised they haven't gone for laws for thee and not for me already and put something like tear gas/pepper spray/dye pack containers in the posts to aid in...

The Reasonably Priced Used Motorcycles for Sale Thread

My neighbour has one and loves it. It's been a reliable ride and gives what he wants from it for minimal cost. It's not a bike I have any interest in.

    Speed camera update (Sept.11)

Here's the CCTV images. Trail cam guy got his images out way before the police. Not surprising that $100 budget beats $1B public service budget.

Stupidly overpriced motorcycle for sale thread

He should post it in the fitness section. Kick starting a non-running KLR with no starter will be leg day and cardio in one.

    Speed camera update (Sept.11)

CCTV caught the last attack. They released the video. Probably a guy, dressed in black, waste of money.

"no damage"? That's an optimistic description of a papier mache bike. Maybe they meant no part left undamaged?

    COVID and the housing market

I agree. If they want to make more laws, they should also have the framework to enforce them effectively. Something like if you catch production on camera, they get you in front of a jp within 24 hours who has the power to review the video and issue the eviction. As it is a special circumstances...

    E bikes rampaging Toronto streets

When doing high speed wheelies on a mobility scooter on public roads, I feel a helmet would be a good idea. Looks like fun though until the cops catch you and give you all the tickets. Grind hard plumbing co made some awesome power wheels on a similar vein. They basically all end up as a...

These speed limit reductions are getting out of hand

Isn't there someone useful near Ottawa? I'd rather drive north than west. As for train, we've thought about it but damn, it takes so long. About 1:40-2:35 on the train from Barrie to union. Add driving to the barrie station and time from union to destination and it's much slower than driving...

Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

Not surprised. They are not selling enough to justify the facility. I have seen a couple in the wild. I thought about getting a job there way back when it was Cami building the equinox. Glad I chose a different route.

    COVID and the housing market

Social housing providers agreeing that many of their tenants have addiction issues is rich. There are thousands of people without addiction issues on the waiting list. If your addiction is ruining your life, that's your problem, not your neighbours. Also, this bill seems to target production and...

Enough of COVID...what are you doing to the house?

Our kitchen has a stupid desk built in the cabinets. The top is liquor basics (esoteric stuff elsewhere). Under the desk accumulates crap (bag of flour, boxes of crackers, etc.). At some point, I'll get annoyed enough to reconfigure with a beverage fridge and a row of small drawers beside. Or...

These speed limit reductions are getting out of hand

Good justification for fancy suspension for ambulances. Heavy body and lots of suspension travel should be able to take speed bumps at the limit with minimal patient impact. They already spend a fortune on fitout, throwing some money at a baja/prerunner outfit seems like a worthy upgrade.

What did you do in your garage today..?

Another option is to use distilled water for your flush and then use a little less water for your fill (you dumped in 4L of water and 3L came out the second drain so use 1L less water when you fill). Cheaper than antifreeze.

These speed limit reductions are getting out of hand

Force bad drivers into tiny cars so they likely die in a crash and driving improves. As it is, the worst drivers in NA keep buying bigger vehicles so they win in the crashes they cause.

Enough of COVID...what are you doing to the house?

We intentionally bought the smallest chest freezer. Most things go to the freezer to die but we needed more space than the stupid small drawer under the fridge for things like batches of spaghetti sauce. It's still a train wreck. Going to try a whiteboard to sign stuff in/out and see if that...

Enough of COVID...what are you doing to the house?

I think the winner option is an upright with bins. You can either buy it that way or find bins that fit. That way when you open the door, you don't dump all the cold air out and it is easy to find/grab what you need as each bin is labelled. Also makes it easy to check if you are getting low on...
