Every other truck is open underneath so that this doesn't happen. Aero covers have openings and gaps intentionally to stop this happening.
Wrist pin circlips are best installed with the gap facing the crankshaft. If it's pointing sideways then the acceleration of the piston acts in the direction of popping it out of its groove!
