Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

EV6, Ioniq 5, Ioniq 6 are all the same underneath. Pick whichever one you like more.

    Daily sports car?

I haven't found waxes to last a year in real usage, nor be as effective in repelling dirt. The Armor Shield stuff looks like it is closer to what the professional applications use. More fussy to apply, but should last longer and work better.

Ceramic coating won't protect against rock chips or sandblasting - that's what paint protection film is for. Ceramic coating makes it easier to clean.

    DC plane crash

If plane is nose-up, which is to be expected when it is on final approach, it will be harder to see what's in front but a little below. And, both pilot and copilot will be busy with things to do at that time, and wouldn't be scanning the entire field of view for something that isn't supposed to...

    Daily sports car?

I used the Mother's stuff which is available at Canadian Tire. It's easy to use, very similar to normal car wax. Might as well do the whole car at that rate. Figure on re-applying every 6 months.

    Daily sports car?

I used the DIY ceramic coating on my car (which has to be reapplied every few months - which is easy). When it's fresh, no need for the car wash, a sharp stream of water from the hose floats most of the dirt off without even having to touch the car. I would imagine the professional stuff is even...

    DC plane crash

In fairness, after this short period of time without the FAA having an administrator (10 days... ! ! !) it probably didn't make one whit of difference to the helicopter pilot or the airplane pilot or the air traffic controller whether the FAA had someone filling in the administrator role.

    DC plane crash

How about an article that pre-dates the plane crash. https://www.npr.org/2024/12/12/nx-s1-5226796/faa-head-resign-mike-whitaker-january-boeing This is an article concerning the relationship between him and Elon Musk...

    DC plane crash

Trump press conference had him blaming DEI for this. Friendly reminder that he's actively trying to dismantle federal government departments that oversee stuff like this, and air traffic control (federal responsibility) has been chronically understaffed for a long time.

What did you do in your garage today..?

Today's youtube find (this job is more complicated than yours): In your situation, you can skip the first part that concerns camshaft and cylinder head removal, and when it gets to the cussing and swearing part, yours doesn't have the same situation because yours doesn't have stacked...

Yes, same guy. Are you thinking of Gianni Setten (may have spelling wrong)?

Motorcycle engine rebuild shop - West of Toronto - Recommendations ?

IMO she's done. Look for a complete engine, or get another bike and part that one out. Interestingly, the parts diagram suggests that this engine (955i?) has replaceable cylinder liners, which is really unusual in bike engines nowadays ... but it's of no help if the parts are no longer...

Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

Yep. Wonder if the pricing for that inspection accounts for all the stuff that doesn't need doing with an EV. Dealers don't always have it together ... on the Bolt facebook groups, we have a chuckle when the dealers send out their form letter reminders with a coupon for an oil change. I...

Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

Screenshots just look like an inspection checklist, and the cost items pertained to tires (and nothing else) which were "attention in the near future". That is a very extensive checklist. There's a whole lot of stuff on that checklist that have nothing whatsoever to do with an EV. Why is...

Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

That's a troll post (of which there are many), but anybody who buys a Porsche (of any sort) in order to have low running costs, is out of their mind. I can count on one hand the number of times the hood of my Bolt has been opened (just short of 70 000 km right now). A couple times to see what...

I'm good with not owning a Muskmobile.

I'm more concerned with the overreaction - perfectly functional aftermarket parts being rejected because "they're not stock", and IF ... THEN ... enforcement of trivial matters that have no bearing on the vehicle being "safe" in the grand scheme of things. Lots of older bikes may become...

What did you do in your garage today..?

I've done this on other bikes, just not this one. It'll be the same idea: Engine out (means exhaust, cooling system, chain, all electrical connections, throttle bodies have to come out or be disconnected first - you might get away with disconnecting the throttle bodies and leaving them in the...
