Who's still riding? (Fall & Winter 2024 Edition)

After a day and a half of storm cleanup I got in 350km today. Beautiful weather to be out. Usually I do plenty of off-road/unmaintained road exploring but every time I tried today I was met with trees down. I did some bushwhacking but grew tired or it pretty quick so stayed to the asphalt or...

    Dual Fuel Generators

Does Champion not give out free t-shirts for online reviews anymore? Sheesh what am I supposed to wear now?! Took advantage of the nice weather yesterday to give the genny a rest and changed the oil in it as it's been running pretty much straight for the past 6 days and power still isn't...

    Dual Fuel Generators

FBMP flooded with overpriced used genny's now as people are trying to take advantage of the outage.

    Dual Fuel Generators

Power out since midnight and Champion generator doing just fine running the house. I was outside around 1am and the sound of trees crashing down in the surrounding forest was rather wild. So far we've lost about 12 trees surrounding the house.

New BETA Dual Sport Bikes in North America

"The Alp X model is a more urban based model, while it can still handle tough trail riding, the wheel package and bodywork design make it a model that will be used for all-around on and off-road riding in the more populated areas." Is there a lot of offroad riding in the populated areas?

What did you do in your garage today..?

I have a plastic "rug" about 36x42" from Amazon that I put under any job that may be messy (brake job on the car or taking the rear of the dirtbike apart for example). It was around $15 and rolls up out of the way when not needed. Handy for putting under snowblower as well. I think it's meant...

Recent movies you saw - recommend or no

Venom: Last Dance - Reviews weren't awesome but I enjoyed it. Has some great lines. Barbie - Definitely one for the ladies but it was ok. Not quite what I was expecting.

    Dual Fuel Generators

I have a larger Champion (12,000start/10,000run) and over the 6yrs it's always been excellent. Starts instantly and I have zero complaints other than I don't really get full power out of it as the breaker is 20a and will sometimes trip when heating up the oven (keep in mind I'm running the whole...

    Iceland

Looks beautiful although riding with a group like that with obvious lack of offroad riding experience would get on my nerves quickly and is a bad day waiting to happen.

    Eating out

I took my truck to the dealer for it's first service yesterday (free) among other errands. I brought a protein shake and a banana to eat. Spend $25+ on a meal while out or I can save that money for investments. Easy decision. I also know people who rent crappy places or live at home with their...

Enough of COVID...what are you doing to the house?

Does anyone have one of these vehicle undercarriage washers and if so does it work ok? My pressure washer is only 2100psi. I just want to use it to wash winter dirt/salt off the vehicle...

Enough of COVID...what are you doing to the house?

Good product for sealing wood knots? I did some pine shelves a few years back in white and the knots are starting to show through yellowish (was primed/painted but not sealed). Figure I can put some sealer overtop and repaint those sections if that'll work.

Buying a vehicle (non motorcycle) as is from private vs dealer

So having a carfax report on the QC vehicle wouldn't show history of flood/repair damage? The seller of the one car in QC I'm considering sent me the vin when I inquired about a carfax report.

The Reasonably Priced Used Motorcycles for Sale Thread

Doesn't matter if you write in that you don't want trades. I had that stated but still had someone offer me tattoo'ing to pay for a sled I had for sale last Fall.

    Affordable thin-walled spark plug sockets

NGK Iridium plugs would be done around 75,000km on my turbo Mazda SUV. I would forget and change them at another 100,000 and remember how bad they looked last time then vow to change them sooner only to forget and wait another 100,000km. In comparison everyone on the Honda Odyssey forum says to...

    Eating out

Doors always open homie. My friends stopped getting invites long ago. They know just to walk in and grab a beer from the fridge.

What did you do in your garage today..?

Last weeks brake service on the wife’s Odyssey showed the rears were low so today I changed the parts. Upgraded coated rotors and ceramic pads (I really do spoil that woman). Cleaned the MAF sensor as well since it’s got 75k on it now. Bedded in the pads as well.

    Eating out

We usually host as well for similar reasons plus our place is entertainment-friendly whether it's a kitchen or deck party so it just works out well for all. Wife and I do lunch dates out and we'll look for interesting spots. Any michelin star is a no as I'll just leave hungry. If I'm riding or...

    Pickup Trucks

I use the 2x4 method (2x8 actually). Not only is it cost effective but if you're out and the sudden need to fit something big back there comes up the board stows out of the way easily unlike a proper bed organizer that will always be in the way.
