    Grips

Hoping for some good answers as I am in exactly the same boat. I need grips and I would buy Spider grips if I could, but they're deceased

Do you do a pre-flight check before every ride?

Nope. I do a wiggle check on things once or twice a season. However, most years I am the ONLY person that touches anything on my bikes. And that photo is a good example why

    What are you currently playing?

As a multi-decade PC enthusiast... I would just buy a PS5 these days. The price of GPUs is beyond stupid, nobody is seriously interested in manufacturing realistic midrange or entry graphics cards anymore. And motherboards are also stupidly priced, tarted up with cheap garnish but having useful...

    What are you currently playing?

I'm trying to track down a physical copy for PS5, they all sold out nearly instantly

The cursed USS Harry S. Truman

I'm sure we've discussed some of these earlier events individually in the past, but line them up together and it starts to seem like the aircraft carrier is cursed or haunted. December 22, 2024: USS Gettysburg shoots down an F/A-18F from the Truman in a friendly fire incident February 12...

    Covid Vacs

You're free to believe whatever you want, I have no desire to engage with the old theories anymore. I only commented on what OP posted because it was technically a new paper that had a veneer of legitimacy, but under the surface it's the same old story from the same crowd

There is no such consensus, and no proof to back up this theory. You are free to present otherwise

Everybody Give Me Wrong Battery, Even When I Give Them My Ownership

Some but not all. I haven't seen a green screen at the parts counter in years... made self-serve easier when they left them unattended, I don't know how to work the new ones. Though these days I mostly buy parts from Rock Auto so I guess it doesn't matter

    Where's the ignore button?

I was thinking it would be nice if it was possible to selectively ignore, i.e. ignore new threads by a given poster but not replies in threads they didn't start. That might be asking too much

    New BMW R1300RT

What I actually dislike the most about that thing is the popped-out "media tablet" style of dashboard. I hate that crap on cars, and I think it has even less of a place on a motorcycle. The tech stuff? Meh, it's fine. The 60-70 year olds buying these things could probably use the help anyway

    Covid Vacs

I presume this is the paper: Myocarditis after SARS-CoV-2 infection and COVID-19 vaccination: Epidemiology, outcomes, and new perspectives Googling at least half of those authors bring up people who were early proponents of ivermectin & hydroxychloroquine treatments for COVID-19, including Dr...

    I WON!!!!

I am not denigrating you, your victory, or the motorcycle in any way. But my first reaction was "Yamaha STILL makes those??"

Everybody Give Me Wrong Battery, Even When I Give Them My Ownership

@Priller Where did you find that? I'm pretty sure that's wrong, I got YTA-12BS off a Kawi parts diagram. That could also be connected to Pegassus's troubles as I think those ALL might be wrong (older ER6n models used a YTX-12BS I think)

Everybody Give Me Wrong Battery, Even When I Give Them My Ownership

Is it not supposed to be a YTA-12BS? That's what I get off an online parts fiche

The Reasonably Priced Used Motorcycles for Sale Thread

Six speed transmission but absolute maximum speed of 190, so fairly short gearing. Agree that it was loads of fun! Also agree that I can't go back to one, it's not made for tall people

    Pickup Trucks

That part is very reasonable. I think of a car like the regal Toyota Echo - in Canada every single option you could get, other than colour, was dealer installed. Including the "RS" appearance package, Borla exhaust, and A/C. Now in this case they say they want to sell direct to consumers, so in...

    Pickup Trucks

I found this very interesting... maybe unrealistic. https://arstechnica.com/cars/2025/04/amazon-backed-startup-wants-to-sell-a-bare-bones-ev-truck-for-20000/

    Smell Test

As someone who commuted on the TTC... you can attack me with cologne/perfume all day, I don't care. People eating hot food probably annoy me more, because it smells good and I start fantasizing about scenarios where I get their food. That is all trivial baby matters compared to the cloud of...

    License plate renewal check

I hear that. I'm not worried about that in this case - the buyer paid me well for the parts car, and I don't want to do anything that triggers the province asking them for HST. I have gone through the trouble of disavowing ownership of a vehicle once, when I sold a bike to someone who...
