9½ Reasons Motorcycle Shops Are Closing That Have Nothing To Do With Sales

So back in the early 90’s Cycle Canada Magazine sent a guy over to Europe to cover a few races. He’s walking through a parking lot at a race in the Czech Republic when he sees a car with an Ontario licence plate and thinks that’s odd. He walks over and starts talking to the driver, turns out...

9½ Reasons Motorcycle Shops Are Closing That Have Nothing To Do With Sales

I use to go to GP Bikes when they were just a small shop on Harwood Ave. in Ajax. I dealt with Jerry, the owner many times. Real nice straight up guy that knew how to treat his customers. Good to see that he’s become so successful.

9½ Reasons Motorcycle Shops Are Closing That Have Nothing To Do With Sales

It use to be that when someone bought a bike they would be back every couple of weeks to buy gear, accessories, tires etc. Now everyone buys the bike and gets everything else on line. Dealerships have lost a huge portion of that business. Rising insurance costs have also contributed to...

Country Living (septic, well water, etc.) ... who's done it?

I wired up a friends new garage at his cottage recently near Calabogie Racetrack. It was just over an hour one way to the nearest Home Depot so if you forgot something there goes half a day. I made sure I showed up with everything I needed.

Country Living (septic, well water, etc.) ... who's done it?

My driveway is about 250’-300’ long and about 15’ wide.A 9 1/2 hp Honda snowblower works great for me , I just need to throw the snow left or right a few feet to clear my driveway. A four wheeler with a plow would not work well for me. By February the snowbanks on either side would be too high...

Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

I can never see myself owning one but everyone I know that does will never go back to an internal combustion vehicle, home charging station is a must though.

You may also need a disconnect beside the compressor and I always do the final connection using stranded wire in a seal tight flex. The constant vibration of the compressor tends to loosen the wire terminations, stranded wire is less susceptible to this than solid wire.

Inspector will always go by nameplate specs on the compressor, size your wire and fusing accordingly to table D16 in the Ontario Electrical Safety Codebook.

    Brian Wilson RIP

Yeah, I forgot about that connection. I think it was Dennis Wilson that was friends with him. The other band members thought he was “a little off” and didn’t want anything to do with him. There’s an old clip on YouTube of The Beach Boys performing a song written by Charles Manson and Dennis...

    Brian Wilson RIP

I have a friend that dated Gordon Lightfoot’s daughter. She lived in a little subdivision house in Stouville, she was very private and low key about her father. My buddy told me one summer evenihg he came over for a bbq and after dinner they sat out on the back porch and Gord was strumming a...

    Any electricians?

Post the specs if you can. I’m guessing it’s a 2 stage, so probably a 30 or 40 amp breaker. You’ll never run out of air, are you opening up a body shop in your garage?

There’s a pretty good Phil Spector documentary also. One reviewer called it “The rare psycho profile that you can dance to”

    Any electricians?

A 240v upright compressor, hard wired does not require an AFCI breaker. A new 120v 15a or 20a receptacle will if it’s in an attached garage, if it’s a detached garage AFCI breakers are not required as it is not considered part of a “dwelling”. Typically for a 60 gallon 240v single stage, single...
