    No laws against headlights

My old Subaru did pretty good. Set it to Auto and leave it. Turns low beams on day or night and off when you leave the car. Honda is a little more problematic. Auto is half high, and if you leave them at auto they don’t turn off when you leave. I’ve had mechanics turn the switch to off on me...

    California dreaming

I thought California was burning into the ocean from red tape and over regulation? Is it still there? It takes them between 3 1/2 - 7 years to get a permit for a controlled burn, and many of the areas burn naturally first.

    Speed camera update (Sept.11)

That's generally NOT where speed cameras are placed. They have to be beside a school, which isn't going to be on the 401, and they're generally on single lane roads, which means no weaving like a maniac. :( Here for sure. We'd be better off with red light cameras that are capable of catching...

    Hearing loss

O.k. I just paid $999 at Costco, rest of the bill went to the government, so I’ll have to check carefully, that I like them. I imagine that they won’t be state of the art, bleeding edge. I wasn’t sure if that was high, or low. Wonder if this is the demo picture:

Garmin Drops a Motorcycle Radar System With Blind-Spot Monitoring, and a Rear Camera

I have the old fashioned hunks of metal called mirror extenders. I can see what’s behind me fine, except when they come loose. I wonder how theft proof the thing will be. $600 is too much.

    MacDoc's rides 2015 CB300 to 2018 MT03 to 2017 GS310 to 2014 CB500F.

I’m starting to fear he’s turning into a curbsider.

    Interesting break down stories?

Not that interesting. Chain was loose on the way down to Alabama, in Scranton. On further inspection, it was loose, tight, loose, tight; some of the links were seized. Got it in to a local dealer, and they squeezed me in and found a new chain. Had to replace the sprockets and chain after I...

There's Just One Thing Moto Manufacturers Should Do To Get More Riders on Bikes

I could argue the opposite: Bikes are made for little people. I tuck on a small sport bike and my head is two feet in front of the windscreen. Every stock seat is narrow and uncomfortable in front, so that short legged people can get a foot down. Every stock windshield blows wind into my face...

    Electric Lawn Mower?

We’ve had a Ryobi for two years, along with the trimmer. I think it was a buy one get one free deal. Works great. Before that, we had a corded mower for 30+ years. Don’t forget to take the blades off every once in a while to sharpen them, or they might refuse to do so.

Big difference in the low is that it’s difficult to get a centre stand and the lower turning clearance.

    Triumph 900 GT

I have a 2022. Nice bike. Expensive, but not Italian or German expensive. ( but I came from a Weestrom ). I haven’t had any complaints, except the cost of the valve servicing, the cutout they have in the levers, to make sure they snap a a particular point, and the small for me size of the...

    Speed camera update (Sept.11)

It was an 80 at one point. The problem area is where the south High Park path crosses without a crosswalk, bridge or signal. The place where pedestrians cross there is obscured by the bridge. What needs to happen is to tack on a ramp up to the Queenway bridge for pedestrians, and remove some...

    Battery question - I think I dumb'd.

Pretty sure it has a very small parasitic drain, if you don’t have the white wire connected to an existing switched wire. It will then turn the multiple connections on once the engine has been started for a few seconds. If the white wire is connected then the multiple connections turn on...

    Speed camera update (Sept.11)

My take on Speed cameras: City has criteria for where they can be. Might need a certain number of complaints, accidents, deaths, and has to be near a school. They hire a company to administer and maintain the cameras. The company also has criteria. Has to be high traffic street where the...
