Friday Sept 5 Come one Come all

I`m not certain of the rules now, used to be full leathers were required if you ran sub 12`s. You could wear jeans up to a 12 second flat run. A full road racing setup is best.

Friday Sept 5 Come one Come all

Have you had the Wing out there before? The best thing about the strip is not looking around for the cops. I rode at Cayuga long ago on my `78 GS1000, my best pass was 11.78 @ 111, your Wing may be about the same. My launches, 60ft, weren`t great. You`re right...every rider should give it a shot.

Has the city lost it's mind...

The more motivated ones come here to carjack and rob the LCBO and run criminal enterprises, much better benefits.

    Anyone Seen A Missing ATM?

I witnessed 3 guys in a Supra throw a garbage can through the window of a Shoppers Drug Mart at Warden & 7 and run in with green garbage bags, stealing smokes. We were on break at the Loblaws in the plaza, that was about 2AM in the summer of `90 or`91. One of our crew called 911 and in 60 to 90...

    Anyone Seen A Missing ATM?

That looks like a lot of work for a smallish payday if you`re caught. Yeah right!! Who am I kidding? You could kill a carload of Nuns and puppies getting away and still make bail the same day. That whole system must be alarmed, lots of cops in that photo, where were they at 3AM, can`t see...

    Steps towards a simpler life

A couple years ago I had two older guys from our main garage door repair company say something similar. They were sorting out the spring on my double, main, door and said in 20 years they`d been in the garages of the majority of homes here. They said about 80% were just jammed with stuff, based...

    Steve Thornton.. RIP

Difficult genius madman. He left his mark on Cycle Canada print mag and on advrider too. As well as a reporter and journalist, told it like it is, a vanishing breed, never woke or apologetic. Rest in Peace Steve.

    Steps towards a simpler life

I remember Ronnie Hawkins saying " I spent a million dollars on women and booze, the rest I wasted." Another cautionary tale...I know a guy in his 70`s who blew over a million bucks gambling, in 12 years. He now lives on CPP/OAS and can`t pay his rent on his Oshawa rathole apartment and recently...

    Steps towards a simpler life

Do you have a link to your Thailand trip? I`ve been looking at a Retirement Visa there and been speaking with a member of another bike forum who made the jump from California to Thailand, with his wife about 15 years ago. I meet the qualification for the Visa, but it`s obviously a big step on...

    Steps towards a simpler life

I`m 68 and retired for 10 years now, my perspective is different. Seems everyone is plan, plan, plan. Don`t forget to live in the here and now though, buy that nice car or bike, take a big tour or cruise vacation. I`m not sure if I`ve mentioned here about a friend`s dad who worked over 30 years...

    E bikes rampaging Toronto streets

You must have really good money management skill, I`ve read and heard economists and financial planners say it (probably now ) is well into the 300K range. They must have been sick of No Name mac & cheese and hot dogs. :p

    E bikes rampaging Toronto streets

Sometimes things got a bit sideways though as a kid. I saw a 12 year old dude get a target arrow stuck in his face, below the eye, playing in a park. He was OK though. We were on a farm taking turns shooting at a rusty old 50`s Chevy using a .303, when one of our group popped up from behind it...

    E bikes rampaging Toronto streets

I have married with kids friends, and their kids are adults, say the guys with all the money are single, I know two other guys in my situation. Peace of mind is the big thing though.

    E bikes rampaging Toronto streets

I very seldom see kids outside here, if they are the parent(s) are with them. Inside buried face first in a screen otherwise, sad.. I played with .22 rifles, lawn darts, firecrackers, playing around creeks and rivers, racing bicycles or Honda SL70`s and Yamaha Mini-Enduros with friends. We went...

Can a Yamaha FZ6R be made fast?

The easiest way is to jack up the gas cap and slip an R1 under it. The OP comes across like the classic " squid ". Wanna` impress people, put your stock exhaust back on, fit suitable tires and take something like the VRRA race school. I can`t condone "racing" on the street, the only people...
