2023 Ride Report - North Shore of St. Lawrence

Such a wonderful ride report Shane! I'm so glad that you both had a wonderful ride. A little envious that I couldn't do anything remotely as fun as this, this season! Well, there's always next season :) Thanks for sharing!

    What the heck….mental hesitation…

Oh yes, I have raced some go-karts myself (amateur). I have seen the focus some of them got. They can keep their lap times consistent within a small range. One of the things we used to do to to get the person in front of us out of focus is to gently tap at the rear of the kart once you catch up...

    What the heck….mental hesitation…

My respect for racing drivers increased (which was high to begin with) a tad bit when I realized how mentally tough you got to be. The ability to shut down any negative voices and focus on what needs to be done is huge.

    What the heck….mental hesitation…

Guess you're not alone. I am planning to head out tomorrow, I still don't know where to but I hope I figure it out. Earlier, I would have everything up and ready, and I'd go to bed at a decent hour. In 2021, I did close to 14k km and last season was around 5-6k lol. This season less than 1k so...

    2023 Day Trips!

Thank you @kurtrules and @oioioi is right...it was repainted by the previous owner, I'm guessing a crash most likely. No frame damage or leaks or anything abnormal. For the price I paid, it looked like a decent deal...will find out.

    2023 Day Trips!

Sure, I will reach out to you separately :) Yeah I got lucky...target fixation and lack of focus. Familiar roads so wasn't paying a 100% attention. Thank you :)

    2023 Day Trips!

Yeah, a 2007 FZ6. Went out for what is my usual season opener ride today. The last time I did my season opener on my SV, things didn't go as planned lol. The usual route - Palgrave, Hockley Valley, Mono-Relessey, River Rd, 2 Line E and back home. Skipped Creemore this time. They rebuilt the...

@PacoT If you want to head up to Tobermory, take the ferry and ride this loop https://www.routeyou.com/en-ca/route/view/6055993/touring-motorcycle-route/manitoulin-loop I have been planning to go to SSM and Wawa for the last 2 years, hopefully this year. We will see.

    Bike evaluation

You got to provide them a vin # and that's the only time you can be sure they will insure you. I have had insurance for over 3 years and I'm in my mid thirties. None of the insurance I called would insure me on a SS (they would but it doesn't make sense to me). As a well wisher, it's a...

Insurance History - Taking Bike Off

Do they care if it's plated? I always thought you can get an insurance for anything that has a vin number (plated or unplated). That said, if there is an option for parking insurance (the way they have for cars), that should also count towards insurance history, right?

    Bikes you want to try

Daytona 675/765. Always wanted to own one (still do). Maybe someday :) Keep an eye out for demo days, PowerTO and Serpa had it last year, which is when I got a chance after wanting to ride for many years.
