    Air India Crash

I never said they did. What I said if neither of the two pilots on board flew an Airbus 330 yesterday and and a Boeing 787-9 the next day They do not mix aircraft and you are always best off being in one and having it like a second skin. You know where everything is.

    Air India Crash

If Air India operates as Air Canada does, pilots fly one aircraft type only. Also if they have both Boeing and Airbus in their fleet, you do not fly both makes. My commercial student first started on an Airbus with AC and they later switched him to Boeing (FO on a 767, then FO on a 777, then...

    2025 Newfoundland

Yup, back in 2003. Unfortunately, I only had 2 weeks off (leave without pay) because there was no way I was going to trade my annual motorcycle tours of the Alps with NFLD. But if I do go back, it'll be for 2 to 3 weeks spent on the Rock itself. I have to hit George Street for the pubs! I just...

    I always thought "Size Matters"...

In my case I made the mistake of listening to a riding friend who told me "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". That doesn't go well with me as I tend to over-maintain my vehicles. I never seem to have issues in any of my 2 or 4 wheeled vehicles and some are old. Wasn't impressed with the master...

    I always thought "Size Matters"...

I'd hate to see a breakdown there. Its a long and tough way to push your bike back out.

    I always thought "Size Matters"...

Or at least weight when it comes to throwing around a 500+ pound dual-sport in the dirt. Well to all of us on this forum and any other forum, it does matter, but not to Toni Bou on the Honda CRF 1100L Africa Twin. Simply beautiful to watch... Taming the Beast by Toni Bou

What did you do in your garage today..?

12.8V and obviously no major drains in 2 weeks of being parked without a battery maintainer being connected.

What size of bike for 2 up ?

Of course which is why I ride large dual-sports as they are now called or large dual-purpose bikes. By the way, "cool factor" does not play into my buying decision. I like range and comfort and have done a few thousand milers and can walk normally the next day. I am tall and I do not want my...

What size of bike for 2 up ?

As for ALL UP weights, my 2003 BMW R1150 GS Adventure would weigh 570 pounds wet, plus my weight, plus my girlfriends weight, plus my 2 side cases and top case. I would be sitting at at least 1000 pounds. No big deal here on our open roads and even what some would call our technical roads, but...

What size of bike for 2 up ?

Well lucky for me, I am a very good judge of certain things. I never test drove any of the 16 of the 17 motorcycles that I have owned and they were what I expected. I did test drive a used BMW R100 GS at the dealer before I bought a new R100 GS the same day thereafter. I never test drove the...

What size of bike for 2 up ?

Either new or if the dealer had a used model, I am sure you could if you are serious. I guess if you never tried, you wouldn't know.

Re: The best roads/routes in Ontario/Quebec/U.S.

Are there any really good places to have lunch in the Bala - Port Carling area? For those that have spent the night in the area, any good motels in the area?

What size of bike for 2 up ?

Why not rent a motorcycle for the day and see what suits the both of you. Size does matter and the last thing you want is an engine reving so high that it ends up sounding like you are riding a sewing machine. I would say as a minimum, an 800.

Riding Down Under - Tropical Cairns Australia

Oh that is so hard to take. Looking at the weather on the Gold Coast. 22C during the day and about 10C before the sun rises, and this is their winter.

9½ Reasons Motorcycle Shops Are Closing That Have Nothing To Do With Sales

I guess it depends on what you need to get done. There are simple DIY jobs that most can do like simple maintenance (oil and oil filter change, air filter change, maybe a valve adjust). Of course if you live where you cannot do any work on your vehicle, I get that. As for pay rates, some people...

What's the one thing you always forget or wish you'd brought on long trip on 2 wheels?

With thousands of hours as PIC, I know the advantage of check lists and have a few based on where I am going. Better weather at times which I cannot change.

    Honda nostalgia

Exactly! Of the 17 motorcycles I have owned so far, I regret selling my 1986 Suzuki RG 500 Gamma and my 1975 Honda CB 400 Four Super Sport, but only because back then it was a matter of $$$ and I could not have two or more motorcycles. I learned my lesson and since then now keep the motorcycles...
