Dave when your going through a corner do you suppose that sitting pin straight up and down is better? Or should you prepare for the position that you will eventually be in...
The safest way to avoid slow riders and their mistakes is to pass them! I always did the same on the road... stayed ahead of traffic all the time.
But since you are in Novice group your best bet is to set yourself up for the pass on the straights... most beginners have trouble going into the...
You don't even need to be "off the bike" just make sure that when your going around a corner half your butt is off (like riding crooked on the bike) the seat even if your bike is straight up and down... believe me it will help you get to where you need to be. Funny most people have trouble with...
I don't know what percentage of my braking is done before the actual turn in starts to happen but majority of it is done with the bike straight up and down then feathered into the corner... because your just starting out I can understand why you were done with the braking before the corner was...
I didn't see the crash but I don't think getting back on the throttle was your problem... If anything back on the throttle might have thrown the back end of your bike out.
If your going into that corner hard on the brakes and then threw your bike into the turn before the suspension was settled...
Stormcat... get the suspension and tires changed right away! The only thing between you and the track surface is your tires, numero uno important.
Make sure... double sure you have the right tire pressures.
Your crash could have been caused by a number of things... eliminate as many things as...
Every time I do a track day it takes me about 2/3 sessions out before I trust everything (tires, suspension, etc.), you'll usually see me fussing over every little detail after the first couple of times out... after that my brain is telling me everything is okay and things start to get faster...
As promised a few small vids. of people on the track ...

I saw your pictures... thank you. if you don't mind I'd like the one of me going into corner emailed so that I can get the higher resolutions.
Again thanks or taking the time to Marshal the events...it's the behind the scene people that make this all happen...
Another successful night at the track! Improving my lap times slowly in the right direction :), have some geometry issues to work out but getting very comfortable going faster.
I've got a few very short vids. while following a couple riders around the track that I will post here later...
You can register at the Turn2 canopy actually... the gates open at 3:30pm but registration is at Turn2's pit tent.
I think it's $85 or close to this price for at the tent registration.
I have to agree with Fawaz... At TMP the winds can really pick up, I've seen many lessor canopies bite the dust.
I've been using an EZ-up bought online (fleabay) and it's really stood up to some wicked winds... make sure you have what ever you buy weighted down on all four corners.
Ah.... so now the truth comes out!
It's not so much my taste in music it's that I'm too old to listen to it!! Damn I'm hurt Koji... I've only heard that from my wife prior to you.
